So this is a dumb question, but I don't know shit about programming.

I noticed for Nuckols 3x a week benching (4 week cycle) my strength stays about the same as the volume is upped from weeks 1-3. Then week 4 my strength feels like shit but it's a very low volume week. At the end of week 4 my strength is back up to what it was at the beginning, but week 1 on the next cycle, I get around a 10 lbs jump on my e1RM.

Is this normal and how volume/fatigue accumulation is supposed to work?

Week 1 and 2 aren't too bad, week 3 is pretty tough, week 4 is supposed to be a taper. If you're not really feeling stronger till the next week 1, maybe it's not working exactly as intended.

That's just how Sheiko programming works.
The focus is on a lot of volume rather than heavy weights.
You start handling some heavier weights on the prep cycle 2-3, depending on the program you're doing.

There's also a new trend with Sheiko's most modern programs (advanced medium load and intermediate small load, for example) where you have skill checks (95-100-105%) during the prep cycle 2-3 instead of the comp cycle.

There are some on the internet, but those are the spreadsheets that he uses to train kids and young teenagers.

The actual beginner program for adults that's in the app isn't available anywhere. I'm supposed to work on making that spreadsheet later today.

But the beginner program is very similar to the intermediate small load that's here http://fitsticky.com/intermediate-programs
The main difference being the beginner program has 1 prep 1 comp cycle, small load has 2 prep 1 comp cycle.

But in the small load you do skill checks during the prep cycle 2, so if your friend is not competing he can just run the small load prep 1-2 back to back.
