There's a ton of them. Exactly which ones work is individual to an extent and of course it depends on what you've got access to.

If you're just training in a regular commercial gym you've got paused deadlifts, block/rack pulls (easier on the lower back, not easy on the body in general), snatch-grip pulls from various heights (snatch rack pulls can be really good, just be careful that your fingers don't get between the bar and the rack) and deficits (not really that easy on the lower back). For more assistance-style stuff you've also got the usual array of RDLs/SLDLs put also weirdness like the hack squat and the reeves deadlift.

If you've got more equipment around, then we can get really weird.

Much of the advantages of conventional deadlifting. The hex bar has its uses but it tends to turn the movement into more of a partial squat and less of a hip hinge. Despite being a deadlift it's more of a squat movement in terms of musculature and carryover, same as the zercher squat being more akin to a conventional deadlift than most styles of squatting.

It's more of a gradual thing, the arch will come, you can't force it.
Things that helped me was really enforcing should blade retraction she. You bring yourself to the bar.

I lay with my shoulders off the bench then pull myself to the bar, like a row, and squeeze my shoulder blades back as hard as possible. Then I push my compressed under back down onto the bench. This helps with my arch.

I also look upwards when setting up as this seems to eliminate any back pain I had when setting up.

I've reached a point where setting up is harder than over half of my sets...

I won't say eating is unimportant but I think you really can work through it, so don't get too strung up. As long as you're eating at maintenance I recon you'll be fine in terms of progression and muscle building. Unless you're looking to move up to a goal weight then I wouldn't worry about bulking.

That's my opinion after a 2 year bulk from 68kg to 91kg

Like everything in life it comes wit time, trying to enforcing discipline in a short amount of time is tricky and might not last.
I lasted 8 months of only clean eating. No junk food what so ever. Back when I took lifting stupidly seriously, after I cracked I ate whatever and it made no difference.
I never went back to clean eating but I couldn't live with junk eating, but over time I'm correcting myself and have gotten into good eating habits I enjoy and can maintain because I made a little conscious effort in what I eat every day, instead of trying to go big from day 1.

I've mentioned before that training specialisation is probably the reason why we see such a big difference between strongman and powerlifting SHW deadlift numbers.

What I didn't realise is that, while that can be truth, it does not explain the "plateau" of the numbers around he heaviest classes in PL.

Maybe... it's because the lack of an initial eccentric phase in the deadlift?
We know that fat tissue can help distribute the weight around the body a bit better, so that might explain why the two lifts with an initial eccentric benefit more from added fat.

But that doesn't explain much, because this plateau starts around the 93-105kg classes, and many lifters in those aren't fat at all...

(this all relying upon the fact that you all can competantly use ACE features like medical systems, changing shot out tires, ect..)

Your knees aren't too far forward, there's no such thing. Your ideal amount of knee travel is something you develop over years of lifting.

However, the arch of your foot looks like it's collapsing, it looks like you're coming off of your heels, and it looks like your knees are not tracking along the lines set by your toes. Also, your core doesn't look properly braced. Your abs should be tight. Exhale all the air in your lungs and feel your abs. See how they're tight, flat, and flexed. They should be in this position when you're squatting, which will pull your chest and head down. Don't worry too much about your head being pointed down and at an angle, if your spine is 100% straight, that will inevitably happen, don't force it up.

You're probably not being able to brace properly because of shoulder tightness. Your grip is REALLY narrow, and you're a total noob, which is telling me that in order to keep your hands that close together, you're hyperextending the lower spine, which contributes to that lack of tightness in the core.

Also, get some converse at the least. Squatting barefoot on a metal plate is a good way to fuck up your arch and squat. In converse, when you stand on a plate, you're still on a flat surface, just a tilted one. What you're doing right now is making two mini-arches with a delicate part of your body for no reason. If you're squatting barefoot, then get rid of those plates.

and my gym usually has adipowers available to borrow, but im at a shitty hotel gym atm for my holiday so i figured id use plates - without them or some other kind of heel lift i am incapable of getting to depth

I don't think you should drop the weight if you're squatting under 200. Look up stretches to develop mobility in the hips, shoulders, calves and ass (in that order of importance). Widen your grip 100% or switch to highbar and focus more on calf stretches. Lowbar requires a LOT of shoulder mobility. Even Isley will tell you that he brought his lowbar grip width in over the course of ~1year from something SUPER wide, and I can't even highbar properly without a wide grip.
