i never made it and i could have, i started young at 296 (i was tall, still fat as fuck). I got down to 270 and then my life got completely fucked, lifitng was the only thing i really enjoyed and i completely lost sight of the most important goal, weight loss.

two years later and i can now bench 3 plate, ohp 2pl8, and deadlift 5pl8, but im 340 lbs and miserable

I was using two separate cables for triceps/biceps and some manlet azn snuck in on my tricep cable. I politely told him i was using it and before I could finish saying "but you can work in if you want" he interrupts and asks angrily "Oh you're using both?!?" semi rhetorically. I know how you feel. Have you tried Intermittent Fasting ? Shit is so easy. Helped me lose 40 lbs until school life fucked me up and gained back 20 lbs. IF and calorie counting with an occasional walk every other day helped me lose 40 lbs in 3-4 months. Super easy to follow.

I was doing leg press superset with extensions for 10x10 each and had to stop.

Leg press was 405 is since idk what the weight of the press at my gym unloaded is. Only counting the plates.

Extensions was 105 and felt like my quads were detatching at the knees.

I'm so sorry Arnie. I only made it to set 7... I can do better. I will do better. :'(

I stopped tricking my muscles a month ago. I let them know when we're going to the gym, and then we drive straight there. Did you have one of the cables up for tri-cep pull downs and the other cable down for bicep curls?

If yes, you could easily switch one cable between the two positions and adjust the weight if you're doing different weights - and change the bar/ropes/handles (whatever you're using) Doing that would even give you time inbetween sets while keeping moving.

Since you offered for him to work in I don't think it was really that bad, but imo if you can do the same workout on the same thing but just adjusting it you should just be taking up that one (unless the gym is completely empty of course)

I used to be in the same boat as you. I'm a very quiet person. Anyways to get around this I just started forcing myself to go around the time 5 times a week. After doing that for about 2 months I felt comfortable with the people there because they were less of strangers. So pretty much the more you go the better it gets.
