You are right, but then again:

1. Most of the people in /fit/ choose powerlifting rather than weightlifting, so its just natural that you also get more strong ones

2. Getting good at weightlifting takes a long time. Some beginners lose interest, others just bang head to the wall all the time, and few start to make good progress

3. Most weightlifting athletes don't spend their time on 4chan. Most people here are a bit insecure, and started lifting because they wanted to get big and strong to compensate. Then after a while, when it became a hobby, most of you picked powerlifting. Then again, many athletes pick their sport because tehy are interested about it right from the beginning, let it be football, swimming or weightlifting. And that kind of people don't spend their time in a place they first came to seek for advice how to become less insecure.

4. Despite the fact our sports have similiar aspects, they are totally different sports with different lifts. Its more useful for you to get big and strong fast, but for us it just makes you more slow, stiff and uncoordinated. Yes, you need strength and mass too, but in a way that it doesn't make you worse at the competition lifts. You just can't bang hypertrophy to your shoulders, because you start to lose mobility very fast and your shoulder girdle becomes stiff, and that will cause trouble when trying to lock snatch / jerk over head.

Even though my disc is fucked I still squat and deadlift pain free as long as I don't hinge when squatting. (Do like a high bar squat form with low bar position)

The pain went away when I do reverse hypes (can be done on a back extension machine with a resistance band) and some of Dr kelly starletts stretches

Hip tendinitis I know is different but I guess the point I'm trying to get across is to do what you can without making it worse and just let time heal all wounds.

icing it helps and I know stretching a couple times a few might help. Over stretching it won't however.
