The night time yoga is more to relax, I do really deep meditation at a park when the sun is setting. I go up to my friends house on the weekend and always see new faces up there to smoke weed with and tell my super interesting anecdotes that always seem to blow people's mind and stroke my ego. Occasionally make out with girls up there. Had a GF but life is still for a moment so no gf. I recommend guided meditation for beginners, it's really good.

I discovered that hobbies only work for me if I dedicate enough time to them to get pretty good. I didn't have motivation to play guitar up until recently, but i had practiced every day doing scales and improv on an acoustic whenever my roomates were taking up the tv. Once I moved home and used an electric for the first time in a while, i realized i could run up and down scales much faster. Started using an effects pedal with an 8track recorder and now I get stoned on my few days off and jam out.

I started writing a novel as a hobby. Somehow people at work know and keep asking when it'll be done.

Yeah i just sort of hack it. I started on an acoustic years ago learning chords (A, Am, C, D, E, Em, F, G). Then I learned a simple bar chord in the F chord arrangement (whatever the fuck the terminology is). Went from there to a SOAD phase where I played in drop C/D and jammed the fuck out. Last year or so I've been more into metal/classical, so I practiced the shit out of the major pentatonic/blues minor scale. Still preddy bad but I got to the point where I can improv up and down scales, my most recent revalation while baked out of my mind was that 8/10 timed I "knew" where to place my fingers to produce a sound without actually testing it out first. To give an example of where I'm at right now, pull up the song Planet Caravan (Sabbath or Pantera). I play it in layers using a recorder, and improv to it as well. Other tunes like that but completely of my own creation are valid as well. I feel like I reached the end of the "beginner hallway" and opened up into an endless abyss of future skills and styles. I'm mildly proficient at finger tapping, pretty good at bends, hammer ons and offs, can stretch my fingers across 6 frets, and can play some medium complicated picking patterns (comparable to Dust in the Wind by Kansas)

One of the reasons I started lifting is that people will take my weeb hobbies more lightly, so no.

The older I get the more I realize my hobbies are so I can experience giving my kids opportunities they want.

A few words of advice as you pick up more theory n shit. When it comes to modes, fuck em. They're nothing but fancy words for different root notes on a major scale. Learned this from an old Emily Remler instructional video a while back. You can learn them for the sake of learning them, but It's truly about sound and feel. Also, keep in mind that a scale is just fucking around with 12 notes (for Western music, if you get into raja music with sitars and shit it's a whole new can o worms.)
I really recommend getting into slide as it's like an art form. I can't explain it better than that, but if you get into it, you see what I mean.
Don't forget to learn scale/chord relationships and how it really stands out in jazz.

Once I clean up my fretting and picking technique, I think I might dabble in something related to what I describe as "medieval guitar" sort of like learning songs you would hear in a Skyrim Inn except more complicated (pretty much something like the intro to To Live is To Die by Metallica)

Does running count? I like to run and to compete. Lifting grew stale on me at one point and I didn't really want to get huge muscles so now I only lift as a side activity. I became the runner guy among my friends. Funny now I'm a fitness freak but nobody said anything when I lifted exclusively 2 years before I picked up running. Probably because "going to the gym" is something meh but "racing" is a sport

What the other anons said, but simply practice drawing things out and in of your comfort zone. Start looking at people or objects and tracing the contours, as my first hurdle when starting out was symbol drawing. Do studies and draw from references, but always make sure to doodle some stuff from imagination. If you're ever feeling uninspired/unmotivated, just look up some really nice artworks and appreciate for a while. My inspo favorites are Henry Yan, Zhao Mingwu, and Sargent.
