How long did it take you/should it take to reach double body weight squat?
Also are most people on here low bar or high?

Second week

I don't remember exactly, but I've been lifting for 4 years, squat 365x6-8. front squat 247x6-8.

185lbs bodyweight.

Isn't that a pretty big difference between front and back?
>>
>>37662751
Only started front squatting about 4 months ago.
>>
>>37662765
I see, so what have you done programming wise on your back squats?
>>
>>37662751
Front squat activates more muscles so the weight you can use is smaller.
But yeah the gap shouldnt be that big
>>
>>37662781
That's not the reason. Activating more muscles mean you can go heavier.

It creates a bigger moment to counter than back squats. It's like how lateral raises with arms bent are much easier than straight arm ones.

Weight placement matters

Most of my friends reached 2x bw squats within a year. They squat belted though, and I don't know what their beltless squats are.

I've been squatting for 2 years and am at 1.8x bw squat. I never use a belt. I've head to deload a lot because of hip issues though.
