I don't have safety bars. I only have a bench. I adjust the height of the weight rack of my bench to highest, then I do a half squat to get the barbell on my shoulders and another to put it back. All of this with control in the mirror.

Works pretty sweet, I'm just worried that I might not get up on an unexpected bad day. That would ruin the parquet.

The best thing you can do is have a pro (someone who knows their shit) analyze your squat. After I did that I found that weightlifting shoes with an elevated heel was best for me and I haven't looked back since.
