Joined my university rowing team and started lifting an hour a day on top of that. I really went balls to the wall.

I started off at 165, but rowing a shitload helped drop my down to 150. I then did a slow bulk back to my original weight.

In terms of diet, I count calories but not macros. I keep a general understanding of what is and what isn't healthy to eat. I eat roughly 2500 calories / day. It's mostly lean protein (tuna and chicken/turkey), fruit, greek yogurt, peanut butter etc. Really anything you would assume is healthy.

The key to making this transformation is the realization that it won't happen overnight. It's a long road, but all you have to do is make a little progress each day. Over time it will add up into a big change. A lot of people start new diets / workout routines but quit after 2 weeks because nothing is changing. I didn't start to see results until ~1 month in. But after I started seeing results the gym became addicting. There's a threshold you have to cross, so power through the bullshit because once you cross the threshold you'll start to love lifting.

Been casual lifting without really following a diet for 3 years, went from pretty much 50 kg at 160cm tall to 75kg at this pic 182cm 19 year old.
Legs i'm happy with from bicycling etc, they are at 22 inches and defined.

I was thinking of going for 187 or even 176, but I'm starting to think that the fucking loose skin is twisting my view of things and that I'll end up all skelly. 5'7", ~120lbs. ~6 weeks of progress.
Probably a year away from looking like most of you guys, but already feeling the gains.
Put on 10lbs and actually seem to have lost fat.
Veins are noticeable now all over hands and forearms, pop like hell after a workout.
I walk differently, girls look at me differently, even my face seems noticeably improved.

The "fucked around" part is definitely true tho. I had a 4 day brosplit consisting of: back/chest/arms/shoulders. Didn't squat because I stupidly fell for the "squatting gives you t-rex legs" meme.
It sure as shit gave me mad hypertrophy in the very beginning, but in those 4 months my strength barely went up (bench was 45kg, it went to 55kg in 4 months).
Moral of the story: brosplits give you the ego boost that kickstarts your desire to lift, but once you want some actual strength, you HAVE TO migrate to heavy compounds.

I'd say about 8 months. On a consistent basis, 6 months. My lifts have kind of stalled and I've been 195-200 lbs
