You can be in a caloric deficit and do ss.

You can get ripped on ss

I lost weight the entire time i did greyskull.

Fullbody 3x a week linear progression is the best way to lift as a novice.

Anyone who says otherwise is an uneducated DYEL who has been lifting for under a year.

Every novice program that works (reg parks 5x5, gslp, starting strength) are all pretty much the same concepts with minor minor changes, because any major changes renders it a shitty program (ICF, SL, any other 5x5 written by a jackass that has too many working sets and accessory exercises)

If body symmetry is your concern, do greyskull.

If maximum gains is your concern, do ss.

If you are t-rexing, then just replace squat with hip thrust.

It is that easy.
