>Start seriously lifting about a year ago
>Get into pretty good shape, 5'7 manlet, 175 (was 200 before lifting)
>Start IF 3 months ago and lost another 5 lbs to start my summer cut
>Get into car accident, some asshole was texting and ran into the back of my car at a stoplight
>Back is pretty fucked up from the whiplash, so I go to see a lawyer
>Lawyer's doc advises that I stay away from the gym for a few months
>Back starts to feel a little better, so I do some mild weight lifting with some shitty home equipment I have
>Start to miss the gym after a month of sitting on my ass
>Get depressed and fuck up my diet...like a lot
>Finally ready to get back into the gym after 6 weeks of pretty much being a slob
>Hoping to get back in shape for a pool party my apartment complex is holding July 27th

How fucked am I, /fit/? I gained 10 lbs over the past 6 weeks, and lost a lot of definition in my muscles/abs (180 at this point). Will I be able to look semi-decent if I go back to the gym and get back on my diet/IF?

Good to hear. I figured muscle memory would help some, but I didn't know if I'd have to do extreme cutting or over the top exercises to lose 15 lbs by then.

Also a little paranoid about lifting even though my lawyer is advising against it. But I've been so depressed since I stopped going to the gym, I feel like I'll go nuts if I sit out for another 2 months.

I would be paranoid too.
desu i would leave out compounds like diddly and squats completely.

I would still do bench, but not the others, that would be just too scary for me.

Also, isolation > compounds.

Good advice. I was planning on leaving out deadlifts anyway though. I guess no squats also makes sense.

I was actually planning on leaving out back exercises altogether, but the other day I did some pull ups and everything seemed okay. But when I tried to dead lift 200lbs, my back started to hurt.

bruh lemme tell you. I injured my back last summer working bad enough that I struggled to put on shorts July-December. Started going to a chiro who was more like a physiotherapist desu and we focused mainly on exercises. I get that it's frustrating as fuck and feels like it isn't even getting better. I couldn't left july-jan and dislocated my shoulder in sept so that didn't help. Qt gf broke up with me eventually because I was a sadknt with a fucked up back and I was depressed as fuck. Couldn't lift, bitch acted like a bitch (who could've knew) but I got back into it in Jan. I was deadlifting 135 pounds in Jan with a decent amount of pain but physio said I needed to do it. Bench dropped to 205 and squat to 135. Before this shit was at 455lbs deadlift, 295 bench and 315 squat 6'3 210lbs. Oh also the not being able to workout made me put on a decent amount of weighit and went up to 235-240. However now in the beginning of May I've stopped being a sadknt and my bench is back at 285, diddly 405 and squat 265 also lost ~20 pounds and am sitting at 215 now with my goal being 200. It's never over, only if you're a pussy and I know you're not anon.
