Well your first step should probably be starting strength again to get back where you were. If you can't keep adding weight every workout, then move to a program that alternates volume and intensity and adds weight slower. Texas Method, Madcow, Starr, 5/3/1, etc.

on the squat I caught my knees caving and my heels coming up in the bottom a bit, so I think I may have been a bit too forward-leaning. I think sorting those things out should help with the ascent being wonky.

Ok so I have a question about calorie intake if anyone wants to help me out.

Currently 6'2" 190lbs 13-15%bf Going to run Blaha's 5x5 this Monday, after about 6 weeks of moderate fucking about (lots of mobility work) that occurred after a years hiatus.

My lifts are currently

225x1 squat
315x1 deadlift
215x3 Dips (full ROM with 25lb plate)

So, background established, I would like to improve those to

315x3 squat
405x3 deadlift
270x3 dip (or bench, haven't had a spotter so I've been dipping)

Without going above 17-19% bf.

How many calories should I be taking in over TDEE, and (ballpark) how long should it take me to get those numbers provided I eat and sleep correctly?

Well that was very mean. I have watched form videos and my form is improving over time. My dead-lift isn't awful, i'm not seeing a huge difference between my form and the forms of Bart Kwan and many other lifters with a narrow sumo, perhaps i need to get my arse lower but still, every deadlift is different depending on the leverages of the person

I am aware that my bench form isn't ideal, and i need to learn to arch my back and pinch my shoulder blades more, but right now i'm concerned the most with my squat form, I'm still waiting for my new squat shoes to arrive in the mail, looking at switching to low bar as well but so far high bar has felt very natural and low bar feels wrong. And my squat is very much a high bar version of Mark Rippletits how to squat guide, my hips and the weight go up at the same speed, so it's by no means a good morning. I think my issue is that my hips break before my knees.

I have been very focused on my deadlift, it has changed massively over the last 4 months and over the last 6 weeks went from a 120kilo max to a 155kilo max, i'm actually quite happy with the progress there and am going to spend the next 5 week training cycle focusing on my squat form, especially breaking at the knees and trying more lowbar and height control.

>tfw failed my old deadlift max after cutting

went from 220 to 200lbs. Previous max was 530lbs but could only move it an inch of the floor today. I always had trouble getting my deadlifts moving off the floor, probably because my gym only has shitty stiff bars.

Plan is to do paused deadlift right of the floor for a lot of sets and reps and to work on my front squat while working deadlift in 3-5 sets with 2-5 rep range. Would that improve my strenght off the floor senpai?

Only thing I noticed is that it doesn't look like you're aggressively pushing into your hamstrings when you set up. Doesn't matter if your setup is fast or slow, you've got to lock in your hips to your back, so the only way you're getting to the bar is by hip hinge.

Tried to draw that in pic related, the lines above your spine are roughly what hip angle you should shoot for. I realize the hip isn't just a straight line but you should get the idea.

I gave him real advice the first time and gave up the second as you can see. Same problems, possibly even worse. I understand coming up on heels in squat, I battle that myself, but the other errors are due to lack of attention. Semi sumo is not simply hands outside of feet, that's incredibly inefficient

I started training a 55 years old woman in the gym today. She's not a fat slob though, she used to be very active and is decently in shape.
Starting her on SS.

She's starting with dumbbells though. She can deadlift the bar but can't squat (mostly technique) or press the bar.

I'll be starting her kinda like Sheiko does with his novices, with box squats first. I think that's gonna be very helpful since she has knee problems so can't simply start squatting deep on her own for now.

And of course I'm raising the bar +-20cm from the floor so that it's about standard height. It helps a lot with mitigating any knee pain as well (though she felt no pain in the training session).
She has a small issue though, in that she can't keep the bar very close to her when deadlift. She says it hurts if it bumps on her knees, even if slightly. So I'm thinking of maybe having her wear knee protection, the ones people use when skating and stuff. Not the thick bumpy ones, just the simplest and thinnest - so that she can keep the bar closer to her.
