Make sure to stare at the big strong lifters in there between your sets. Also make it a thing to ask for a spot while someone is in the middle of their own fucking deadlift set. Don't be afraid to say that you are still using the set of equipment when asked despite taking 3 minute rests between sets.

And scream when you are barely pulling 1pl8 bench.

You should only need a spot on your last set (otherwise you're lifting too heavy) and no one is to busy in the gym to spot one set of 5. My paradoxical advice is to ask the biggest scariest guy in the gym for the spot. He's the most experienced and knows the necessity of a spotter and will gladly oblige.

this. my sister and i both worked as receptionists and if you want people to like you at the gym you need to tip the people up front. it's just gym etiquette. nothing major, just like $1 or $2 each time you go in.

If you're kind of a sperg you'll probably feel awkward, just chill and get your sets in, you'll settle in in a couple of days.

Also remember to tip the staff as well as anyone who gives you a spot. Just bring a roll of fives with you.
