One time in High School I ran a mile in 5:52.

I once ran a mile in 7 minutes 42 seconds in middle school. That was the last time I ever ran.

Currently running a mile around 5:30. I really want to try to push it below 4 minutes but I don't think I can run that fast without without the fear of tripping on my own feet and eating shit.
>>
Is it better to take long strides when you run a mile or short quick steps? Or is it just preference? I find it easier to take long strides.

My best was a sub-30 min 5-mile but that eas 2 years ago when I just ran and didn't lift. Now I'm 30lb heavier and only do hiit so I would probably not be able to break under 38 min or so. Oh well I'm happier being bigger than I was being faster

Wasn't there a running general a few years back?
What happened?

we got big

4:59 mile. Honestly I think that people who start as complete athletic noobs should be encouraged to run first and put on muscle second. Seems a little unhealthy putting so much emphasis on lifting alone in an environment of NEETS

Before my lungs got fucked by bronchitis my fastest was 4:40, now I'm back down to 5 min flat. Dunno how to feel
>>

That's for a mile run, sorry.
>>
17:56 5k
5:45 1 mile
54s 400m
3:45 Marathon
9:20 1.5 mile
>>
I want to start =/
>>

there was a regular /fit/ 5k challenge on endomondo, and also a week mileage competition. i never broke 20 on the 5k but i put about 70 miles behind me for the mileage test. that was like back in 2010 i think.
>>
Before I lifted weights I ran a 52.5 400m, 4:40 mile, 17:30 5k.
Then I hit the gym, gained 40 pounds, and stopped running
I could maybe pull a 6-minute mile now on a good day, definitely no better than a 22-minute 5k on a flat course
