A word of advice:

I have a qt gf of 3 years and I love her more than anything. Before heavy 1RMs I imagine her crying on the set of facial abuse to build very real rage. I tend to 1RM on the verge of tears and end up involuntarily screaming during the rep. It takes a good 5 or 7 minutes to get completely mentally "there." Read about a similar tactic online and it literally increased my DL from a 1 rm of 405 to 425 as soon as I started doing it.

Save it for 1RMs on big compound lifts tho.
