After it hits 1pl8, at least for me, my lifts started to skyrocket.

Maybe I was just too afraid of putting a huge pl8 on the bar, feeling that immense weight on your shoulders. It can be a terrifying thing. But in about 2 or 3 weeks of reaching 1pl8 1rep max. I reached 2 pl8 squats for reps.

I benched for the first time today, did 105 for 5. After doing bitchass dumbell presses for a year this gave me a rush unlike any lift i've done before, I'm hooked. So glad I gave it a go

Iv gained 13 pounds in that time though. It's a good supplement if you don't hit your calorie requirements and it's a fast absorbing protein after a workout. For weight gain it's good.

I made my noob gains in a big commercial gym - got to 2.5pl8, felt strong as fuck as I rarely saw anybody squatting more than 2pl8 (with the occasional exception).

>Loads of power racks and barbells, a proper "lifting" gym
>Everyone deadlifting at least 5pl8

Though I find progress is a lot faster when you train around like-minded people who all lift more weight than you.
