6x6 deficits with 70% was okay. I really need to work on my conditioning Jesus Christ. Almost out of breath after every set. The reps were good though. Good speed on every set. Lad, I have a question about TM since you're here, if you wouldn't mind helping. Basically, no matter how much I warm up, squat ID feels terrible, the bar moves like garbage, and my hips don't feel nearly warmed up enough. I do Rippe's warm up sets (barx2x5, 40%x5, 60%x3, 80%x2), I walk up an extremely steep hill for like 5 minutes to get to the gym, and some of Duffin's hip warm ups, but only ID feels terrible. VD is manageable, for 5x5, and my hips feel fine. RD feels unreasonably difficult for 70% of my 5rm x2x5, but it still moves well. Any tips? I'm thinking about switching to Greg Nuckols' beginner squat program.

You could always toy with the sets/rep schemes of TM once you start struggling in a certain rep range. That is pretty much how I ran out TM for as long as I did.

So if ID 1x5 feels like garbage take it to 2x3, when you start feeling terrible and failing you can take that to 3x2. Once you fail, reset, drop back to a little under what you failed 1x5 and push on.

Same with VD, but I find as that gets heavier it is actually easier to drop volume a little as well. So my progression on VD went 5x5, 5x4, 5x3. If it is feeling terrible then maybe drop the reps a little and keep pushing forwards.

In terms of warming up, this is purely anecdotal but I've always found ending my warm ups at around 90% always leaves me feeling a little bit better for my working sets. So maybe you could be slightly more aggressive with your warm ups. Roughly, the way that I warm up for heavier work is usually barx10, 40%x5, 60%x3-5, 75%x2-3, 90%x1-2, but this isn't set in stone.

As someone who's had a bulging disc, see a fucking doctor. Your stubborn attitude will only hurt you. There are doctors that can help you rehab with the intention of squatting again. Avoiding doctors entirely is so unbelievably stupid that even I, literally the stupidest person here, would never do it. Personally, heavy (conventional) deadlifts (for me, with progression) helped get rid of the pain. But my disc bulge was also very minor. And ab work. As well as avoiding any movement/weight that aggravated the injury. At least get a diagnosis first, before trying anything.

I've been steadily adding weight to my deadlift and continually getting 5 reps, but I only added 5 lbs today and barely got 3 reps out in total.

5'9= phil heath, jay cutler aka best possible aesthetic and bodybuilding height
5'9= jesse norris, josh hancott, haack, basically all the GOAT powerlifters happen to also be 5'9, oh wait, they dont HAPPEN to be, its no coincidence, since 5'9 is the GOAT height

5'9 you also look tall as fuck but it also looks like you lift without needing steroids, and 5'9 is very athletic not just in weightlifting sports, but also for running backs, WR's, safeties, CB's in the NFL, etc common knowledge once you pass 5'9 your athleticism starts declining and you have to make up for it with your long limbs which is pathetic when you think about it, hence why apehoop isnt a real sport

I'm planning on July 31 for a real one, but a mock meet in about 2.5 weeks, hopefully my squat can unfuck itself by then.
I did 425x4x2 yesterday and it didn't feel as strong as it used to, but it felt pretty stable for the first time since before spring break, and I was able to get a far better bounce out of the hole, which was nice. So I'm hopeful for more than 530 in a couple of weeks here. the bars that they have at school are shit for squatting tho. Although I don't think that makes much of a difference with the weights I use, just a mental thing.
