Lots of vague terms anon. Like the other reply said, abs are muscle + low body fat (15-16 you may *start* to see definition, 12 or below they should pop, assuming you have muscle there).

The solution depends on if you have decent muscle there to begin with. Unless you're an athlete or have been working your abs, the answer is probably no. So you need to work your abs/obliques. Also, body fat %. Flex your abs and pinch the skin there. If what you're pinching is more than half an inch or so (total) you have fat to lose, and should decrease your calorie intake (or increase your average daily burn).

But since you think you're underweight, other anon is probably right, you have little muscle and some fat = skinnyfat, and you have a choice. Either work abs and cut (or start lifting to increase your burn) and MAYBE see your abs in a month or two, or eat more, gain some muscle, then cut and have a better body overall.

Genuinely don't know what I'm doing with this. Figure I'll use the sticky to work out some diet, cut the amount of fat and starch I eat and load up on protein and complex carbs and fruits and whatnot. I'll workout the diet soon.

I don't believe I have more than half an inch of fat, flexing my abs, but I could be doing it wrong or something.

I think I might just start the routine, but I'll screencap what you've said and refer to it again tomorrow before I start.

Juice cleanses are bunk. Real cleanses are intense. I went on a Master Cleanse for 7 days - felt great afterwards.

The real point of a cleanse is to decimate your gut bacteria and clean off the microbial plaque that builds up in the intestine. Afterward you've got a blank-slate to add good cultures and build up a solid garden of gut flora. Better nutrient absorption all around, more energy.

My dad is into trends though. Britbong here so he sits and reads the Daily Mail app on his phone. He's fat too, and eats too much, but he's with my mum and she's heavy too so he's sorted. When I implied to him that I lift for chicks he looked surprised, like it never occurred to him before.

He always emails me Daily Mail articles saying shit like "New study says you should never do press ups" - "Look at our new diet fad plan e.g. bliss bowls". I mean, it's good he's interested and I encourage him but he buys Men's Health magazine and he just gets caught up in fads.

I'm going to try lifting with him when I get time off work. I love him and I want to help him get healthy, he's too fat for 50+ now.

I actually participated in one of these weight loss studies for some extra cash in college.

You have to meet with the company rep for 1 hour, 4 days a week. They put you on a nutrition plan (and to their credit it does include whatever supp their selling), and then whenever you meet up, they lead you through group cardio sessions.

Best thing that came out of it was we got a guest code to get into some really nice hotel's swimming pool area for one of our cardio sessions. The hotel never seemed to change the code, so I would go swim there all the time from then on.
