Fruit contains an "acceptable" amount of it. But candy, soda, etc contains so much that you will become literally addicted to it, crave more, eat more, and so on until you become fat. And as with any addiction, your mind will invent all sorts of justifications for your behavior (e.g. HAES, muh genetics, etc.)

I see alot of people just linking studies and other shit but what they don't understand is that not everything will work for ur body, a study can say that x diet is the best for losing weight but for u it might be the worst diet to lose weight.

There are three sub-categories of carbs. The nutrition labels on most things should break it down for you:

1. Fiber. Your body won't burn/store this. Eat as much as you want.
2. Sugar. This is the bad stuff. Avoid.
3. Everything else. These are okay unless you're specifically doing a keto diet. If you're not doing keto, then IIFYM applies.

Glucose is sugar.
Galactose is a sugar.
Maltose is a sugar.
Lactose is a sugar.

The other two groups that aren't directly sugars are
Starch (which is composed of sugars - glucose) and Cellulose (made of sugars - glucose).

Simple is bad if your metabolism is slow. Complex is very good, especially green vegetables, they even help to absorb protein into muscle (slow digesting and your body would rather use carbs for energy, than protein, so protein gets stored in muscle to be used later for rebuilding tissues rather than energy)
