So I was unable to get a wink of sleep last night due to a newborn son and was wondering what the consensus on /fit/ is about weight training on no sleep.

can confirm, i have a legit script from my doctor and that shit works miracles for keeping you awake, but it isnt going to help your body recover. ive felt sharp and focuses on modafinil while my body feels like its been smashed by a tank and its not a good feeling.

I did it once. I fell backwards while I was squatting. My balance was completely off due to the no sleep shit. I couldn't even really stand still.

I don't do it anymore. Tried twice when I'd only had 3-4 hours. Both times I did a couple of sets and just gave up as I could barely get reps in without yawning.

Why risk damaging yourself? You're probably miles behind on so many things in life. Get that shit done and give it your all next time at the gym.

So long as you don't sit at home masturbating instead you are doing OK.
