If you like heels, powerlifts, adipowers, do-wins, etc are all good options. If you like flats, wrestling shoes or chucks are usually the way to go. Maybe the Mark Bell meme shoes, but I can't remember what they're called. Crossfit LTRs or something like that?

Norse, it's Magnusson/Ortmayer guy. Next Saturday is my last training day of Magnusson/Ortmayer. It says on the 12 week (2 weeks from tommorrow) to rest or test my new max. Any advice? I've only tested my max before I started and that was it. I just don't wanna move in 10 pound jumps doing singles but I also don't be fatigued and get injured. I was thinking I could do a light upper back day on the 12th week and then max the next week but I'm not sure. Opinions?

Well, it would be pretty shocking if you felt good about anything really, based on what your life has been like in the time since our meet. Idk how your squats went today, but I'll assume that they were bad. But realistically, what did you expect to happen? Of course you probably lost strength. And it's not like you can't gain whatever you lost back.

Again though, if you would be happier doing single ply bench instead of full power for the time being, just do that. Remember to be realistic with yourself.

It was just bleh. I tried using my flat shoes for squats and it did feel kinda good. But I was sore and shouldn't have gone for a pr but things were feeling good so I figured I'd go for 415 but it just didn't go. Stalled in the hole and my back went to shit and I leaned forward and dumped it.
It's the first squat I've failed since I started it up again and it's my own fault.

We'll see how bench day goes Sunday morning.

Yeah, so next week I'll be hitting 10 pounds more than my max for reps as just a working set. When I actually have to test I have no idea where I should even start. For warmups I just do body squats, move up to a plate and then make 30 pound jumps and taper off in reps until my working sets. For testing my new max after the program is over I wonder what would be optimal. I just don't wanna do 40 sets of singles until I've found my max.

Next Saturday it will be:
4x4: 335 1x2: 375 1x2: 415 and last set will be 335x8.

binch 5x5, started at 225 lbs and going up 5-10 lbs a session (not a week), all reps paused completely at chest. drop sets at the end of same weight that are super slow or pause multiple times

I'm thinking 455-475, conservatively. You gotta remember I had only singled my way up to 405 and it was smooth like butter. All my sets have been fast since then and only getting faster. I can't say for sure but I like what you put forward. I think I'll just go by quarters until I get to 405+ and then see how it feels. The fatigue accumalates as well and my reps have still been really fast. 395x2 felt just as essy as 355x2 and the videos show the bar speed barely get any slower. That's kinda why I'm wondering. For all I know my max could've went up 20 pounds but I've always been good at singles and I'm realistically thinking at least a 50 pound jump from what I gather.

And I seriously can't thank you enough for the input. All the little things have made huge impacts on me as a novice, aspiring pl'er.

Perhaps this is not powerlifting related but hopefully you can help me. I'm doing Lyle's generic bulking like this ABxABxx. The problem is that some weeks I can go 4x times and other weeks I can't. Would be better to adapt to a AxBxAxx every week or intercalate between 4 times and 3 times whenever I can. Also would it be better to always go let's say Monday Wedsnday Friday instead of some weeks Tuesday Thursday Saturday (in a 3 times a week, in a 4 always having the day off in the middle)
