I have a competition in 5 weeks and I want to invest in some

A lot of people don't like the power lifts because the heel compresses; it's designed to be a crossfit shoe where you can run and shit.
Other people don't notice a difference.
Personally if you're really into lifting, get a proper weightlifting shoe. Even the cheapy do wins, baf and wei rui shoes are built solidly.

The adipowers are 3 times as expensive and this only my first year lifting. And my maxes are 2/3/4 so not too heavy for compression of the heel

Somebody here posted a picture of a guy who won a gold medal with those. I bought them after seeing that and I love them. The heel does not compress; there is padding around the heel block that is soft but the heel itself does not compress.

Don't listen to anyone who says the PL2 compresses or is a crossfit shoe.
This is a meme and not true.
The heel material of the old PL1 wasn't as good in quality, but the PL2 is the same as the PP2, and both shoes have been used to win gold medals in world-class competitions.

The only major difference between the PL2 and the PP2 is that the PL2 has a lower heel (1.5cm vs 1.9cm) as it's geared towards powerlifters and general strength training (back squats and deadlifts), while the PP2 was geared towards weightlifters (and crossfitters) who need the extra mobility for the C&J and Snatch (higher heel allows them to receive the bar in a deeper position, and to be more upright).

For the price (you can find it as cheap as 60U$ with free shipping), the PL2 is a nobrainer. Sure, a 200U$ Romaleos2 or Adipowers is gonna be "better" and be built with higher quality materials, but that's three times the price.

These shoes last for years. Ive had my romaleos 2 for 4years now. Im waiting for the new version to come out.

I wear these for 10 gym session per week for the last 4 years and theyre still in great shape.

Dont worry about this is my first comp let me save money, just buy the shoes you see yourself wearing for the next few years.

Bought these Adidas Adipower Weightlift on Amazon the other day. They were 70% off for some reason, now they are full price again.

They are pretty good but the heel looks awful. I really dont like this "modernistic" look at all.
