I put up 275 at 230 after two years of lifting. I started off dealing with multiple debilitating chronic injuries and couldn't bench the bar for reps. Most lifters will have had much better progression, but I started from just about as low as you can and now I have a respectable bench.

I went from living in so much pain that i could barely leave my bed to feeling great all day every day. It used to hurt to walk, but now i lift heavy three times a week, train Muay Thai two days and spar once a week. Never any problems that I can't keep in check from my life before fitness. I'm happier than I ever thought possible.

Just put in the time and effort, eat a lot, and work mobility because injuries are worse than anything else in the world of fitness.

Checking back in to say I managed to hit my goal of 145 for 5x5 today. Feeling pumped. Bench has increased 10lbs. Gunna probably stick with 145 for another week or two then bump it up to 155 and see what I can rep out.

I think I could do more but the problem is my left wrist has carpal tunnel or something and it hurts to bench press. Two summers ago I was told I had tendonitis, but I feel like if it's still around it can't be that. Sometimes it flares up on its own and down my arm, but usually just if I angle my hand weird or move it fast or try to lift something at an angle similar to a bench press.

I'm trying to get a doctor's appointment for it. Maybe they can fix it I dunno.

Yeah I was weak as shit.
And my fucking school wouldn't let me into weight training. I had to save up 100 bucks and buy a shit bench set at Sears. I ended up stealing weights from my neighbors they would use them to hold their basketball hoop down outside.

I was only able to load up 190lbs because the bar was so short. I ended up hitting 215lbs a few times at LA fitness when I got a free pass for 2 weeks.

I know a guy at my gym who is cutting from 500lbs he's at 320lbs right now and struggles with 155lbs it fucking baffles me. The only reason he hit 155lbs was because I forced him to do it.

Yup. I've been lifting for a year, but only six months ago I started bulking. I'm at 5 reps x 2pl8. (To be fair, I had been lifting for 7 months straight ~2 years prior)

I've been running a slightly modified version of Madcow's 5x5. It has worked great for me.

yes I'm fat, that's why I'm tryin'. Only been going to the gym for about 9 months now. Haven't lost weight, in fact I gained about 10 pounds, but I lost a lot of bodyfat. My form is pretty good, only issue is that literally never exercised all my life and tryin' to make up for that when you're older is hard as dick.

Been going to the gym for a couple months. I last only did 90, but I could do more than 12 reps of it. I'll do 100 next time. Never tried to see what my one rep max was but I just want to get to the point where I'm using 45lb plates man, I don't like being this weak.

If you are 18+, or worse yet 25+ and are using youtube and /fit/ you have to filter out a lot of garbage to find out what works for you.
