If you really try it's pretty tiring. I skate in a t-shirt at 10 degrees F because I get so hot. A lot of tricks require you to focus and jump in the air repeatedly. Takes decent core strength for balance landing too. That being said, I only consider it an accessory to exercise.

Longboarding is good fun, its a really relaxing way to spend a few hours carving and practicing slides. Its just like surfing and snowboarding except you don't need good swell or snow to do it.

Skateboarding on the other hand makes you look like a tool if your over 17.
