>Is there a link between good mental health and good physical health ?
Yes.
Obesity is strongly correlated with low IQ, low income, depression, impulsiveness and addiction.
>>35474646
>>35474672
Which one of those causes the other ?
Obesity causes a lower IQ and mental / financial problems
or
Low IQ / mental / financial problems cause obesity ?
>>35474520
yes but it isn't necessarily a causative link.
proper nutrition (and especially proper vitamin D intake) can really make a difference on mental health.

There's link between being Norwegian and being good at chess
>>35474952
i would imagine it is a little of both, rather than an either/or scenario
Fischer trained with a PT before his big match with Spassky . Sitting on a chair for 5+ hours requires good physical health too
But he was also a little autistic faggot that got annoyed by minutiae and couldn't concentrate unless everyone in the room hold their breath. Pathetic tb.h

I've had chronic depression with episodes of acute major depression for nearly 10 years and my doctor FINALLY tested my vitamin D; my levels were unmeasurable, but I can't afford to be on 60,000 Ui 3x a day on top of the medication I need for my insomnia, joint and muscle aches/spasms, skin conditions, GI conditions, reproductive problems and so on. Vit D is a big deal and there is strong corelation between depression and chronic pain. If you have insurance or a national health plan (or cash) and depression, it's worth doing a test.

Yes. Have good bodily health, and you'll have good mental health. The brain is the body.
But you can be stupid with a great body, and smart with a terrible excuse of a body.

Start drinking milk? Or get Vitamin D supplements at the store? Isn't something better than nothing at that point?
>>35475199
>If you have insurance or a national health plan (or cash)
I have none of this
>and depression
But a lot of this
I'll ask my Mom to pick up some Vitamin D next time we're at the supermarket tho. Thanks senpai.

Get vitamin d3 for bioavailability. And get it online, it's cheaper.

obesity is not isolated.
it comes with the "I indulge in whatever primary urge and short term satisfaction I can afford" mindset and lifestyle.
weak mind->no long term goals->financial problems/health problems/whatever needs your willpower problems.
