It's been about a 9 month journey so far. At first I counted calories at a deficit and then worked out on top of it to increase that deficit. I don't physically count anymore but just mentally track what I eat. In terms of exercise I pretty much rotate through everything. Running, biking, swimming, lifting.
To be honest it isn't fucking hard. You just have to want it. And I mean like actually fucking want it. No rewarding yourself for doing well. You already "rewarded" yourself for doing nothing to put it all on. Also, don't fall into the trap of over estimating exercise and underestimating food. I always overestimated things I didn't have exact weights for to make sure to stay below my daily calorie mark.

Has anybody here gotten out of skinnyfat? I'm like 150 lbs and 5'9". I guess that's a somewhat normal weight but I know that my fat % is like 25%. I have no ass, no legs, no arms, no shoulders and still have a fucking gut standing up with proper posture.

What program should I do? I've some previous gym experience with SS, went up to 2 plate squat and 3 plate deadlift but then quit. That was a year ago tho.

Seconding this. I've lost 61lbs this year (12lbs until goal weight) and it was important for me to not tangibly reward myself at each "goal", especially not with food. I basically saw the initial weight gain as a very successful bulking phase/three year food bender, and it was now time to pay the piper, as it were.

Honestly, just seeing the scales go under 200, losing 1 stone, 2 stone etc, being able to sell old clothes, those things were rewarding enough. I consider myself quite a patient person in other aspects - I taught myself to ice skate and most of my hobbies are crafts-based, e.g. sculpting, sewing gigantic cross stitch patterns - and it was high time I translated that into how I treated my body. It is just another "project" that I'm continuously working on bit by bit.

One year of progress.17-18.272 to 225
Started with walking 30 min a day for a few months and recently started doing 60-80 squats,Push ups,Dips and doing Crunches,sit ups, leg raises and plank while on deficit
