What is the difference between push and pull exercises?

There is no difference because you can only hit 90lbs on either one faggot
>>35355397
Nigga,I just want to know why people does both.
In push exercises, you have to push against the forces of gravity, so therefore you bring the weight toward you. In pull exercises, your muscles are pulled and elongated as you move the weight away from you.

There's no difference
When benching your triceps push the weight away and then you use your biceps to slow the weight's descent
When rowing it's the opposite so your biceps move the weight toward you and your triceps slow it's descent
It's personal preference really but people who do both are on steroids because they can handle that much volume

More like pull- moce towatds the weoght
>>35355482
>you use your biceps to slow the decent of a bench press
yes, because thats how the body works,
>>35355371
were you dropped on your head as a child?
PUSH
PULL
>>35355371
a difference of any workout is just what muscles are activated
the benchpress mainly uses the triceps, anterioer deltoid and pectorals
bent row would mainly use your rhomboids trapezius posterioer deltoid an bicep, maybe lats im not sure
>>35355408
Maybe because you use different muscles, you mong?
Bench trains pects
Row trains lats

Technically muscles can only pull.
The denomination of push and pull are just simple ways to describe in one word the main muscle groups worked.
Push: chest, triceps, anterior/lateral delts, serratus, etc
Pull: lats, traps, posterior delts, biceps, brachialis and brachioradialis, etc etc
Squats are not a push and deadlifts are not a "pull" (it's a floor pull, which is completely different from the "pulls" described above), contrary to people's belief. Routines that put squats on push day and deadlifts on pull day are 99% of the time retarded.

>he knows literally nothing about physiology
lmfao
>>35355482
That's not how it works

Explain how the biceps slow down something moving in the direction that they contract.
>>35356459
by contracting slower
>>35356518
Then what are triceps for?
>>35356565
>What are protagonist and antagonist muscle groups
>>35355371
Your chest contracts with every push exercise and your back contracts with every pull exercise.
The stronger side will show via your shoulders' position when you're relaxed.
