i did it for 5 months and my diddy went from 90 to 110 kg but the gains seem slow

I started 4 months ago with maybe 40kg and now I'm doing more than you.
Check your form and eat/sleep more I would say.

Wrong. Doing SS as described in the book, your deadlift will go up significantly. OP is just not doing SS properly.
