Hit lmao3.5plaet DL today after changing to a switch grip. Is there any downside to using a switch grip it seems like its discussed on /fit/ as a last resort measure along with chalk or wrist ties and until now i've avoided using it.

Easier to tear a bicep, would recommend double overhand with straps instead
>>
are you retarded

do you unironically think chalking your hands and holding your hands in a different orientation is a "last resort"

jesus the amount of DYELs
>>
>>35192163
everyone whos serious about lifting laughs at the faggot who uses straps to pull maxes its just fucking embarrassing mate
>>
>>35192163
Straps are meant to be used when your grip is too fatigued to finish a set, but during working sets mixed grip and/ or chalk is customary
>>
>>35192189
no straps are for overload work

if you use straps to do working sets or even maxes you're a faggot and should consider suicide
>>
>>35192141
Mixed grip isn't a last resort for most people, it's rather how they grip the bar on most sets. Straps might be more of a last resort for some but not for everyone. Just use chalk if you can, though. Limiting yourself to double overhand without chalk only results in getting the absolute minimum out of the exercise.

There is the issue about bicep tears, but if you're worried about that I'd try to use a hook grip instead.

I usually only use them on the last sets of my defecit deadlifts. If i don't i sometimes miss reps
>>
>>35192220
thats fine

I basically consider defecits overload work, cause for all intents and purposes they basically are
>>

Work on your grip / forearms.

Yeah i'll try to keep it up with overhand it hasn't been an issue before however I was out of routine over summer and my DLs are ahead of my grip strength.
