you can follow it up with isolation work, but compounds are deffo a time saver, so you don't have to spend 1 hour in the gym 6 days a week.

Shame for living with your parents is a pretty ignorant American ideal actually.
If your family life is good, why the fuck would you not hang out in a rent free house with a family that loves you, where you can contribute and get to know your family as an adult for real, while simultaneously saving money for a down payment on your own home?
I mean, shit, I just finished a Masters program and began my first real job, making good money, but you think I'm going to move out just because of that? I had cheap, shitty places in college and it was the pits. I'm in a comfortable home now, and will be in a position to purchase my own comfortable home with a 30% down payment in 18 months time. In the meantime, I cook some meals at home, I do some of the maintenance work my dad is too old or too sick of to do, and I replaced all our old thermostats with electrical ones. As long as you're not a useless leech, why is living with your parents so frowned upon in America?

I don't think that's really a problem at all. I think if you have a problem getting a girl to fuck you, it probably has a lot more to do with your looks, personality, hygiene, etc. than it does with you living in your parents' house. Like I said, I live in my parents' house, and so far I've not had an issue with a girl being turned off by it. If you have had that issue, then I suspect it's not the house that's the problem, unless of course you've still got your racecar bed or video game posters on your bedroom walls or something like that.

You sound defensive, but I'm probably projecting. Why do I feel so embarassed about living with my parents when I pay all their bills in exchange for free rent (not that they'd ever ask for money)? I love it here, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to spend time with my parents while I still have them. They're very conservative and very Catholic, but I could honestly bring heroin and hookers home and the most they'd do is express concern over whether I'm happy and doing what is best for me. After my dad's multiple heart surgeries last year, I'm too aware of how little time I have left with them, and I want to do everything I can to make their lives as comfortable as I can.

Logically and emotionally, I know I'm doing what is in line with my principles. So why do I feel like such a failure whenever I see that look on someone's face after they ask about my living situation and I have to admit I live with my parents?

Because you do not yet have the ability to proudly do differently than the crowd.

It's funny that this is so common - the crowd is busily gorging on junk food and becoming grotesquely fat, and everyone here is instead eating chicken and rice and working out hours a day and boldly giving them the finger for insisting that we should do otherwise, yet when it comes to other elements of social life people on /fit/ are still total sheep.

They can't tell the whole of society that their way of life is sick and wrong and that they refuse to comply and that they're NOT sorry, except when it comes to fitness.
