working out on weekends

hey guys I work roofing 10 hours a day on weekdays and train mma 5 days a week. by the time i get done with work and training i just get home and crash pretty much so there is no way I'm gonna be able to fit any lifting into my schedule. I was thinking i could hit the weights hard on the weekends and do an upper lower split on saturday and sunday when i don't have work. Is this too much? Is it bad to have no rest days? If its ok will be able to make decent gains on a 2 day split?

You aren't going to make much int he way of gains.

What's your goal here anyway? Is there something you need out of it for MMA? Do you just want to be swoll? You probably won't make it.

You might be better off taking say, Tuesday and Thursday off from MMA, lifting T-Th-Sa, then having Sunday as a rest day.

my goal is mainly to gain strength and improve my lifts. gaining a few pounds of muscle would be good too but thats a secondary goal.

Why so much mma though? why not mma 2 times a week or something ?

getting good at mma is my main priority. i just think i would greatly benefit from getting stronger as well.

alright well then yes, you should train at the gym.
One day should be only for compound lifts (benchpress, squat, deadlift, OHP, barbell rows)
and the other day should be isolated movements/machines

2 hours at the gym should be enough

bro if you want to be good, train 6 days a week
like 8-9 times a week in those 6 days
eg:
monday: MMA morning lifting afternoon
tuesday: MMA morning
Wed: MMA morning light liftin afternoon
Thur: MMA morning
fry: MMA morning MMA afternoon
sat: Lifting morning afternoon off
sun: off
