Anybody here find back popping/cracking safe?
>>
>>35050445
All the time
>>
>>35050445
as long as it doesn't hurt
>>
>>35050445
I would say in moderation, but my sister would do it everyday multiple times a day and is now in physical therapy because of it.

Go see a chiropractor if your worried about your back.
>>
>>35050445
is this porn?
>>
>>35050501
>chiropractor

why not see a real doctor?
>>
Sometimes. If my back is really stiff I'll get my wife to walk on it, she doesn't weigh much but she's got small ass feet so the surface area is perfect for cracking my back. For the most part though, my back pain has been alleviated almost entirely from lat exercises and consistent deadlifts.
>>
I had consistent back pain that I recently realized was caused by tight hamstrings.

I try and touch the floor a few times a day and everything is great
>>
Stay away from the neck. Chiropractor or not.
>>
Satisfying as fuck/10
Love chiropractors, even if they are basically unliscenced wackjobs

Pretty sure one of them is going to kill me one day
>>
>>35050445
Would getting a deep tissue massage help with spasms and resulting soreness?
>>
>>35050445
If youre referring to the myth that the popping noise prior to cracking knuckles/joints, then yes it is safe.

It's a myth. pop away
>>
Chiropracty is the biggest scam in the world. Muscles pulling on the bones make a difference, not the bones themselves.

Stretch/message
>>
>>35051261
Devil's advocate: couldn't the chiropractor's goal be to manipulate the bones to make the muscles and tendons work better?
>>
By back has been cracking by itself. Is this serious? its been like 3 months, just cracks in different spots by itself, dosnt hurt though
>>
>>35050445
if you are referring to chiropractory, then yes it is extremely safe and beneficial.
if you are talking about yourself cracking your back, yes and no
this is coming from 8 years uni....
put your hands on your hips, and stretch your back, the popping and cracking is good for you, and safe. if you are pressing on your spine with your hands, or getting someone to walk on you, although it may feel good, it is very bad for you,

pressing your hands into your spine to crack it can result in repeated pushing your spine to one side and giving you an imbalance and a curve,
someone walking on your back can dislocate discs
>>
>>35051268
The bones are not the factor, EVER. It's the muscles, ALWAYS
>>
>>35051268
>>35051261
Chiropractors don't know what the fuck they are doing and >>35051345 is right. Don't ever go to a chiropractor, it's dangerous. Just go to a real doctor m8, maybe a masseuse or you yourself rubbing some lidocain on yourself will work.
>>
>>35051345
I don't think they claim it's about the bones. It's the muscular system around the bones.
>>
>>35051345
false. because of tension being caused by my spine, i was in the beginning stages of osteoporosis at age 19.
the synapses in my spine were not communicating and were not asking for nutrients. chiro saved my life bruh.
i had multiple x rays and CT scans done

No she isn't.

Joint popping itself isn't bad but may be a sign of something else going on (I dunno, arthritis or scoliosis or something maybe) or you may find it annoying or painful and have the cause treated directly (like with snapping hip syndrome) but in itself there are no problems.
>>
>>35051931
Yea i had something up with my back, hurt to bend over etc, went to the chiro finally after stretching didnt help. He gave me an adjustment, didnt do anything but he suggested i come in again a week after and i explained more in detail and he was feelin on my back and was like, oh. Then he found what it was and popped that shit back into place. Pain went away instantly like magic.

Physical therapist here. There's nothing wrong with back popping, it can definitely relieve you of pain and is good, if done by someone qualified to do it. I definitely do not advise you to try and pop your back (and definitely not your neck!!) yourself, as incorrect manipulations can have seriously bad health effects.

However, people do need to realize that popping is not a solution. It's a way to fight symptoms. The underlying issue is what needs to be fixed, and that's why you need to see a physical therapist like myself. We can't "solve" your pain like a chiro does, because we work with slow rehabilitation based on stretching and targeted muscle exercises. This isn't an easy solution, and it takes months of individual stretching and exercising to fully cure you of the problem. Most people just prefer to see a chiro because they want a "quick fix" every now and then without putting in any real effort themselves.

The other day I had a guy with lower back pain; not really pain, but he always felt uncomfortable in his lower back, especially while walking. His problem was caused by several factors: bad posture will sitting (had an office job), an incorrect way of walking (the way he put his feet on the ground was wrong), a difference in leg length that naturally leads to lower back issues, etc. I recommended him several exercises and I'm working with him now for 10 sessions. But yes, it will take a while before anything is "fixed".

It's not like the kid could get any worse. Holy fuck did you see the poor guy
>>
>>35052496
Yeah it's great they fixed him, but fuck when they just randomly twist a person's neck like that I think they're gonna fucking kill them

At least when I crack my back/neck it feels controlled
>>
>>35051980
This. It's just mom science.

I'll crack my back and neck when I stretch and do mobility work.

>>
>>35051125
Temporarily. You need to build muscle in the correct areas to prevent the muscles SPASM's which is just protecting your nerves / spine
>>
>there are people in this thread who believe chiropractics is a meme
enjoy taking pills for back pain
>>
>>35051345
Wrong faggot not everyone is the same. I had a chiropractic help me throuogly as the muscles could not activate correctly before adjustments and afterwards I feel immediate relief and improved strength but most importanly improved mobility so I can use the correct muscles effectively
>>
>>35052640
I bet you believe in acupuncture as a viable treatment.
There is some science to some things that a chiro will do, but other things are counterproductive or just bunk.
Especially when they crank out the magic healing crystals and charge you out the ass.
>>
>>35050501
>chiropractor
full retard
maybe take some homeopathic stuff as well
>>
>>35052669
what the fuck are you talking about
I didn't even mention acupuncture or healing crystals whatever they are
Of course there are some things chiropractics can't fix but I never said they have a magical fix for everything
>>
The above youtube channel someone mentioned. There was this kid who had a severe form of Lordosis and got fixed by a few cracking techniques from this dude.
Long story short - There was this Hobo I saw who was delving into the trash. This dude had the exact same lordosis. I wanted to advise him of something so bad (corrective excercises or smth) but decided to let him go as he's there every day. Any advice?
>>
>>35052509
The dude did go to school for it tho. But I know what you mean it scares the shit out of me too. Also you need to be really careful adjusting your neck. My cousin rotated her neck improperly and tore a blood vessel. She almost died
>>
>>35050594
I went to the chiropractor after having severe headaches that the doctors couldn't figure out even after an MRI. It turned out it was a pinched nerve creating pressure on my occipital lobe or some shit. One 25$ session and it was gone.
>>
I hope OP didn't listen to all the broscience and random advice ITT.
>>
>>35054797
I'm thinking of doing this. I work at an office and sleep on a couch because poor fag. My back pain is crazy, I have numbers in my hands and feet, headaches. Md doesn't think I have ms or ALS. I hope this helps my pain
>>
>>35054923
It can. I go to one my gym recommends since he focuses on athletes more than just normal people.
>>
>>35052693
Acupuncture is better respected than chiropractors. I have no beef with chiropractors, I think some are very good even if a lot are bastards, but don't talk shit about acupuncture
>>
>>35052600>>35052600
>karate chop his neck

For some reason this made fucking laugh out loud
>>
>>35055466
Oups meant back my bad
>>
>>>35054923

By all means do but go to a physiotherapist as they'll help you establish what the problem is (it's probably forward head posture)
>>
>>35054797
>>35055509

Oh and your probably better off sleeping on the floor till you can afford a bed.
>>
Chiropractic is literally definition quackery and started as a religious cult.

Yes and it works really well just like Jesus. There's no need to see a real doctor but I guess if you lived in a country that had healthcare as easily available to everyone despite income just like they do guns, well then you would't be here would you?
>>

Fuck you m8, I was on the phone with my gf in a serious conversation and I barely held my sides together.

>he's a manlet now

>>
So if cracking/popping is only treating the symptom, what is the cause and what helps through it?
I have a strong suspicion that a weak muscle system is the underlying cause. However I frequently get back sores and resort to cracking despite lifting weights for 3 months
>>
