For what its worth, if you're gonna do light work for form, you might be better off treating it more like speed work - not super heavy, but a lot of small sets done perfectly. Its tricky to keep comp form for extended sets, especially if you use a big arch.

I'm getting some adductor pain when I pull sumo, so I was thinking (for TM) of doing conventional for volume (e.g. 3x5) on VD and doing sumo for my 1x5 on ID?

I think I pull more with sumo and I prefer it because I dont run a risk of snapping my shit up like I do with conventional; on the other hand it is giving me adductor pain.

I am also trying to to hip mobility / stretching shit in the meantime but I was thinking of doing this until the pain goes away.

I don't think there's much carryover from conventional to sumo, so you may be missing out on that, but if the goal is to reduce the stress on the adductors from volume, it sounds like a good plan.

Well first I want to get my old strength back.
My legs are fine but my chest is really lacking and I have poverty bench.
I'm into powerlifting type training, I love deadlifts and squats and I want to center my workouts around them.
I also want to shed some weight and so I'm on cutting calories atm.
I also have to be pretty conservative with squats and deadlifts because of a surgery I had 6 months ago. I had exploratory surgery of my stomach and so there is a huge scar from the bottom of my sternum all the way down vertically to the pubic mound. This makes me really patient with the weights because I really don't want a hernia.
Also chemo made me pretty weak and I gained a bit of weight afterwards.
Doc said it's ok to work out about 6 months after the surgery and so I started 1st of November.
I have no deadline with this, I want to feel good and fit again and make my chest a bit bigger since It's pretty shite compared to anything else tbqh

I think these are generally right, but might need a little variation. I find how I cue elbows to be dependant on grip width, but pulling them down and in gets the lats engaged Generally, core out ribcage down is good if you hyper extend your back normally, but cueing to brace for a punch is easier for most people to understand, and you're right on the money with pushing out the knees.
