no... anyone that's not been caught... is just not yet caught or getting away with it.

tldr; the ones that get caught are the tip of an enormous iceberg:-

drugs in top level sport is rife.

drugs in individual extreme performance events even more so. drugs amongst the winners almost a certainty, some stuff below:-

testing protocols are always behind doping protocols.

many short half life PEDs drugs can be taken within days of a comp and be flushed out of the system with masking agents, diuretics etc.

Testosterone and HGH are pretty much impossible to test for, the former is impossible to test for as long as an athlete keeps 6:1 test/epitest ratio.

the national drug testing bodies are somewhere on the spectrum of benefit of doubt givers through to complicit in athlete doping.

out of country training makes it difficult to do off season testing, and thats if an athlete genuinely provides whereabouts details.

after all the above, the entire testing process is flawed (high thresholds, A/B samples) mean that literally only the a fraction of the most obvious cheats that fucked up their doping protocol get caught (or athletes from poorer countries that don't have access to better PEDs and full-time medical staff "support")

Then there's things like chain of custody of the samples and retroactive (but non-declared) prescriptions to get athletes off on technicalities, or at least off with a warning instead of a ban.

its literally in no ones interest to really systematically catch cheats... neither the national doping agencies, nor the big sports brands that sponsor the athlete, nor the sports governing bodies.

Well boys.

The bad news: meet didn't quite go as planned.

The good news: I have validated my bad lifting with good excuses :^)

Somehow, despite eating until I wanted to puke for a week, I ended up losing weight. BW was 85.6

Snatch:
106 - miss - walked onto platform, realized I still had my shirt on and singlet down, fixed that, and was rushed for time. Slightly in front.

106 - make - easy lift, 1kg competition PR

111 - miss - nerves. Started my pull before I locked my back. Would have made this with another attempt.

Clean and jerk:
127 - easy make

132 - easy make. 2kg competition PR

137 - miss. Missed the bounce, stood up fairly easily, and readjusted the bar right onto my throat. Rushed the jerk and missed it. Again, would have made it with another attempt.

So, 106/132 for a 3kg competition total at 238. However, nerves and small mistakes are all that stood between me and another 10kg on my total. Also my first 300lbs (lolfatamerican) clean in competition.

I'm 4 meets in, counting today's, and still working through the nerves. I think the best way to get over them is to just do meets. Plus, they structure training nicely, and give you a goal to work towards.

Look at the different morphological structures at the elite level.

That said their are some anatomical differences between people that will limit mobility through the hips and shoulders (Tyoe 3 acromion hook for example). Your body might not be 'perfect' for it but it doesn't mean you can't lift decent numbers after a few years.

You're not paying attention. He shifted with the weight overhead because he wasn't stable. If this was a maximal attempt, he would've lost it but this is lower than his max so he was able to adjust it.

Oly lifters, i would like some advice on my squat.

I mainly do powerlifting, but i prefer the highbar squat so much and i figured you guys were the perfect people to ask.

So i have pretty long thighs (I think), i CAN do squats, but i end up not being very upright. I try to push my knees forward to bend more at the knees rather than the hips but the problem is i feel powerless and my calves hurt along the outside if i sit down on them with my thighs.

Any help is appreciated, if you need more info or pics. Whatever, just tell me.

you're not supposed to sit on your calves if you're doing pause squats try to maintain tension, the only moment that should happen is when the weight is really heavy, even when you're doing regular squats dont try to bounce off your calves

that's a decent looking squat, the only way you can improve it is by losing weight you're fat and preventing you from reaching a deeper bottom position, i think you're overthinking the rest, show a video because i fail to see any problem with just the pic and your description

Just got home from squatting actually, felt much better now that i know my form isnt complete shit.

Anyways, yea i do that stretch every single day, but i think i have an old injury in my right ankle because its much tighter, and it doesnt stay flexible for nearly as long as my left.
