look up nova launcher and UCCW. pretty tricky to get going but once you work it all out its easy and you can just get icon packs etc.

Used to do tons of ricing of my homescreen before, then I realized how completely and utterly necessary it is. Seriously, how much fucking time do you spend staring at that shit? You use it to launch apps.

No rooting at all. Super simply tbh. I just used nova launcher to hide certain features like the dock and status bar, then used Zooper widget pro and made the rest myself. If you're not familiar with Zooper, its a bit complicated at first but you'll get it. It let's you chose what font you want and create shapes (like the long dividers I created). All in all, took me 20 mins to make. Good luck, man
