>Implying nerdy fanboys of the 80s who slow down music and post it on youtube are the "music industry"
Nigga the real music industry is concerned with shoving Kanye and le Tay Tay in our faces 24/7 and given how much they're discussed even on 4chan, they seem to be succeeding.
Kanye West and Hip Hop
Wasn't Hip Hop like 50 years ago? Fucking graffiti as some kind of edgy urban art or breakdancing as anything more modern than a fucking typewriter? Isn't Taylor Swift country-pop? Aren't rap and country the 2 exact genres that most people claim to like a bit of everything in music except these 2 styles?
Kanye is today's Donny Osmond and Trailer Swift is ... pretty much a box of kleenex.
Bring on the homemade ambient and norwegian space disco!
What ever happened to the Creme la Meme Mac Plus shirt?
Is there another genre/style/influence for people who love the look of lo-fi stuff but don't really get into the rest of the vaporwave thing? Not big on the music, not big on the logos, the marble statues, but lo-fi stuff like the "Doe Active" and "LPFJ2" videos is like porn to me.
if there is, i dont know it's name sorry
maybe some subset of normcore or something
It's not a parody. It is outright capitulation.
It's more of a bitter embracement.
Basically it's someone who read some Situationist shit and didn't realize their ideas failed. Or just didn't care and wanted to go back and do the exact same thing punks were when they were smart and communist, because they just like the aesthetics of doing that. Either way it was kinda clever and impressive.
