Thoughts from Milan, and London thus far?

i'm looking at the gucci show....what an interesting place to take the line.

quite a few of the pieces are nsfw, but some of this stuff doesn't strike me as "gucci" but it's very on trend regarding the 70s look that seems to be dominating lately.

I LIKE it, but idk, I don't like it as "Gucci" y'all know what I mean?

then again, my favorite gucci show is SS2011, so eh grain of salt I guess

On another note, I can imagine alot of this stuff translating VERY easily into stuff commoners can/will wear, so maybe that was Michele's plan all along?

I appreciate the androgynous elements, being that i dress like a bit of a tomboy

I'll post a few more from the Gucci show

sheer is here to stay I guess?

Has it really penetrated the mainstream (non-"fashion") at all?

it's like everyone in the fashion world WANTS it to be a big thing, but isn't catching on outside of the fashion world.
...which is fine I guess?
I feel like we can't really move on from a trend until it reaches the "lower" depths of society and ~everyone~ is wearing it.
idk, am I wrong?

just because...here are some JW Anerson looks!!
he's bucking the 70s trend entirely, and doing 80s stuff.

PLEASE don't tell me that I'm the only person who gives a shit about FW and RTW looks
there used to be at least a dozen of us ;--;

the cut and drape of the garment is really the biggest "80s" characteristic here, and thats probably what I liked LEAST about the 80s.

can you guys imagine these looks being dissipated to the masses?
I mean, Idk if I can picture this stuff being knocked off @F21 and Zara and H&M, etc.

Cosby sweaters are pretty timeless though, ad what an interesting time to incorporate them into a RTW fashion show.

Will the "cosby sweater" become divorced from Bill Cosby?
Will it be renamed?

Sheer stuff isn't something that everyone is ever going to do(at least not for quite some time) but I think it has been gaining some traction over the last few years, although not in the way it has been done on the runaways but i've been seeing it more, and not just online.
>>9513241
Doubt it's going to happen but if anything gets popular enough they're gonna be there for it.
>>9513346
Personally none of what has been posted suits me either but whatever, everyone likes different stuff. Why don't you contribute something you like then instead of just shitposting?
>>
>>9513083
In general(from what i've seen) both London and Milan have been really weak, looking forward to this week though, Dries in particular.

Don't really know where you're going with this. Sheer jerseys are an incredibly common part of the standard casualwear lexicon for anybody who even remotely touches on sportswear. If you're talking about things like sheer chiffon blouses/dresses, then you're forgetting this is just runway styling and real customers will always have layers/bandeaus/slips to wear with it.

London is full of interesting stuff and the chief place to see new ideas in clothing. Not always retail-friendly, but it's a fantastic place for designers to experiment and people to take them seriously.

Milan is just about clothes. Not really fashion, but clothes. Nice clothes, wearable clothes, expensive clothes, but that's it.
