Going to an PhD interview tomorrow. Is this outfit reasonable?
Sorry, flipped image.
>>9487464
is this bait?
>>9487464
Jesus what the fuck is this shit? More plaid you stoopid cunt.
>>9487514
go to mfa
It is reasonable, don't let yourself get trolled.
>>9487464
ditch the jeans and shirt
get a white dress shirt, tie, and slacks
its fine, but reconsider blue and blue (blue shirt, jeans). I would switch the pants for something else (maybe chinos) if I were you just to look a bit more pro and not wear the same colour
>>9487469
Ditch the jeans for black slacks, maybe a darker blue shirt, and get a black belt. Also button your jacket. One button if it's a two button jacket, two/just the middle one of it's three.

>Sorry, I thought I had come to the fashion section, where you would have constructive opinions about my outfit
okay bud on which other board can you just jump right in and start posting? without someone pushing your shit in, because you just don't get it yet? jesus man lurk this is forum basics 101 and has been since forever. if you want constructive criticism on jeans, blazer and shirt then please go to mfa. they will actually help. gay as it sounds /fa/ is past normal boring shit like your outfit, and will just call you names and nothing beyond that. of course, your outfit is best to be boring, because it's for an interview.
my opinion of your fit is it is fine for what you need. maybe play it safe with khakis or something. lurk more next time tho

The only black pants I have are suit pants and I'm pretty sure that just makes the whole thing too formal. I have a black belt to go with the shoes, but I'm not sure how they would work with the jeans.
Regarding the jacket, I'm considering wearing a black cardigan pullover and just taking it off when the interview is about to start.
Wear something like thisyou stupid fuccboi
>>9487545
What does 'fuccboi' mean?
>>9487552
Not op, btw.
>>9487552
if you have to ask you are one
This is how you dress for an interview
>>9487464
Too boring, get some fresher colours or go for the Nightcrawler look.
you look like a PhD student well done OP, you raging faggot
going to offer a dissenting opinion here
this isn't outfit of the year quality but I think you've basically achieved what you were trying for
it's professional, respectable and presentable, but not overly formal. you're still interviewing to be a student, not a president. everything fits decently, as others have mentioned the blue/blue combination is a bit much but I like the relatively dark color scheme (assuming you're in a cold area -- this fit would be ridiculous in summer). one criticism is that the belt and shoes don't match. they both look nice on their own, but when you should match your belt to your shoes basically 100% of the time and this isn't an exception. I think a black belt would look better than brown shoes in this situation
>>9487464
black belt = black shoes. brown belt = brown shoes.
other than that, not bad.
Need a darker shirt, and button the jacket. Black pants would be nice too.
And the belt must match the shoes. Always.
If you feel comfortable with your balance of formal and casual, I'd say the look itself is good. If anything, if you're shoes aren't brown, make them brown.
>>9487464
You should look up the designers Raf Simons and Rick Owens, it's what I usually wear to interviews.
>>9487464
Generally you don't wear one color against another color like that. I'd trade out the blue jeans for some chinos.
But, yeah, realistically if you're going on 4chan for anything constructive you're gonna be disappointed. Every board on here is basically /b/ with a twist, and you don't go to /b/ for anything. Ever.
>>9487562
typical fuccboi answer
>>9487469
It's alright, as others have said match belt to shoes. I'm also not convinced the shirt is the right colour. If you've got other smart shirts best bet is to try them on with that outfit, take a picture and post here. Bit long winded but a PhD interview is probably more of a life-changing one than a normal job, so probably worth the time.
>>9487464
you need to be interviewed for a PhD, whaaaaaaaat?
>>9487545
how tall is hedi?
op don't be a faggot wear a fedora
>>9487464
normalfags will think you look fine, don't worry about it
>>9487564
I want this fit so fucking bad
>>9491908
five ten
>>9491890
there are some schools that interview for admissions to undergraduate programs but theyre mainly for trust fund kiddies or specialist things such as art schools
it makes sense though if OP is switching universities specifically for his phd
