I've seen a lot threads looking for alternatives to Common Projects Achilles. Figure I'd do a list so it's easier for people to find alternatives. It would also be helpful if anybody could do an infographic of the shoes as a definitive guide to stop these multiple threads and questions. Add it to the sticky or something.
The obvious solution is to just buy Common Projects Achilles, but no matter how many times I or anybody else posts that this will continue. It really isn't that difficult to save money if you really want them.
I'm just hoping this will curb some of the posts/threads, and that /fa/ can finally get over affordable alternative to Achilles, because there's a whole lot more to sneakers than that.
Royal Republiq Spartacus
Converse x Maison Martin Margiela
COMME des GARÇONS PLAY x Converse Chuck Taylor
Someone should take all these pics and make a collage of all these "cp alternatives" so fuccbois stop asking this question
That's what I was hoping would happen. These questions are an actual plague
Really? I haven't seen one with all the updated pics. If somebody made one why doesn't anybody post it when people ask for alternatives
The point of this thread is to make it less pathetic
Wings + Horns
Can somebody please explain to me what the obsession with CP achilles is? All of the shoes posted ITT bear at least some similarities to the CP's, and several of them are VERY similar. Without discussing price point -- why does it seem that the CP's are the end-all be-all plain white shoe of /fa/?
Side-note -- There was a pair of all black CP's at nordstrom rack near me on clearance for $150. Tried them on, and they make my foot look long and flattened. And I have small feet. Wtf /fa/? I don't get the hype.
CP's are the definitive clean white sneaker, they're made in Italy and beat all of the other (ITT at least) white sneakers in terms of quality.
They also have resale value, if you wear them down to a 7/10 condition you can get a good amount of your money back.
Try and do that with most of the shoes ITT and that won't be the case, and also they age beautifully.
Thanks for sharing your side of it. But something still doesn't add up to me.
I get that they're well made -- fuck, for a $300+ plain white sneaker they better be -- but that can't be the only thing. We've all seen countless /f/ags pining over them and begging for a cheaper alternative. So obviously they're obsessing over the design, not the quality. But as far as design goes, many of the shoes posted here accomplish the same thing as the CPs with only slight differences. Am I wrong?
>Really? I haven't seen one with all the updated pics. If somebody made one why doesn't anybody post it when people ask for alternatives
Because no one fucking cares and they aren't the best looking trainers of all time
