I'm in college and I can afford it but I'm saving up for a car right now and for books and prolly getting married as soon as a I graduate so I just can't justify the purchase at the moment.
>>9336808
I don't know how anyone could justify spending $450 on a sweater
>>9336820
I mean, I guess if you're single and have a well-paying job. But yeah. It's ridiculous
>>9336815
i love this. where?
>>9337033
label says H&M. It's either quite old or it's a womens piece.

>thinking $450 is a lot for a sweater
Kek step up your game. I'm in college and I have scarves that cost almost this much.
>>9337162
Someday imma go to Tokyo and buy all that exclusive god tier shit they have over there...
Might as well start saving up now if I want to buy more than 1,5 item though : /
>>9337244
And your dad barely notices it in his budget.
>>9337244
Cool, I bet you make good life-decisions. Do you have any cool sweaters to show us or nah? Bonus points if it's you wearing it.
I thought this was a neat cable-knit pattern
>>9337244
How do you justify the value?
I suppose I'm a huge pleb that is more about functionality but I have a single wool scarf that cost me 20 bucks and it's big enough to wrap around my neck twice and wide enough to protect me if I wrap it just once.
I could really only see dropping that much or more on a jacket or shoes.
But I mean I don't really even like any of the sweaters on this thread either this one: >>9336751 has dope texture and pattern but the slide color is offputting to me.
>>9337297
>How do you justify the value?
By having mommy and daddy pay for it.
>>9337304
pls
I'm genuinely curious because scarves in my opinion add very little to outfits to begin with and I just don't see what 450 dollar scarf can add that one under 100 bucks can't and I guess I mostly wear them purely for the function
>>9337244
>>9337309
Well you answered it yourself.
A scarf is a good scarf if it keeps you warm and is made out of a nice fabric that doesn't itch and irritate.
That means well knitted soft wools.
Other than that... paying 450 bucks for a scarf is completely unnecessary and borderline retarded.
There is no functional or quality or ground breaking design difference between a 150 and 500 dollar scarf.
>>9337325
... unless it's like a rare exotic vintage Raf Simons piece or whatever but why the hell would you ever wear that anyway.
>>9337325
>>9337297

I'm just playing, I went to Berkeley for exchange in my younger days. Had the pleasure of attending a few lectures by Prof. Takaki. Total fucking boss.
>>9337297
There are a lot of reasons why a sweater will cost that much. Material quality (what kind of wool it might contain, does it have cashmere etc) the wages of the worker who makes it (is it some kid getting $1 a day at a desk or a worker making $18/hour or more) as well as some other factors like quality of construction, but then a lot of it is simply luxury markup.
Clothes are a game of diminishing returns. Some people are willing to pay $40 for a sweater thats 2x as nice as a $20 sweater, some people are willing to pay $500 for a sweater thats 10% nicer than a $400 sweater.

Travel the world a bit first. Head over to Europe and have some fun.
Swiss, German, and French girls will seriously make you rethink everything you've ever learned about women.
>>9338480
Now there's the thing, I think we're just on different pages. I'm already with a beautiful woman whom I love deeply and I just want to settle down, be an engineer, and have a ton of kids
