I'm a relative noob when it comes to having to wear a suit.
I at least have a good foundation for looking more formal since I have some good quality oxfords and a tailored suit.
Literally what tie/pocket squares can I pair without looking too flamboyant or casual. If I had a plain tie, are there 'rules' about pairing it with a patterned square or vice versa? What about textures?
I want to avoid looking like a """"classy gent"""" picrel
Help appreciated
Get $100 bills and fill your front pocket with them instead
The rule about ties is that they should be the same width as your lapel. As for ties themselves, i would advise against garishness. Just take striped, plaid or solid dark ties. Always darker than the shirt.
