Is Cyberpunk effay?

Very. New Blade Runner is coming out next month, Raf's last show was cyberpunk as fuck, the 80's and 90's in general have been on trend for a while. Now is the time to get cyberpunk, anon.

I cannot get over how much i love bladerunner.

A film about the future, made in the 80's, emulating a 30's crime story and nails the dystopian future without being too 80's cheese.

Its perfect.

wtc a decent ryan gosling shearling ala bladerunner 2?

No idea but long jackets and coats are going to be big this winter.

If the world is going to go full cyberpunk with corporations taking over and mass surveillance, we might as well get the fun fashion parts of it too.

amen. hi tech lo life
>>
>>12744712
I am generally against people attempting leather but I feel like this might actually be do-able, particularly on the heels of sherpa jackets.
>>
I'm scared for the new Blade Runner. So far every shot in every trailer has looked way too clean and sterile, flat (compared to the original which had depth in almost every scene) and as if they never heard of color gels but instead digitally color-corrected everything in the post. Also all those action shots, the one liner dialog snippets and everything Jared Leto worry me.
>>
>>12745087
You're not concerned at all because of it being a nostalgia cash grab completely unnecessary sequel and only like one dude involved from the other movie, not counting Ford?
>>
>>12745096
That too. The only reason I'm looking forward to it is because I hope it sparks another wave of Cyberpunk media being popular.

Ironically I feel like the new Ghost in the Shell worked surprisingly well, especially in regards to visuals, setting, atmosphere, soundtrack and overall feel. Plot was weak and shallow but desu I felt the same about the Anime. Pretty effay outfits too.

It's a commodity for sale, just like steampunk. The best IRL cyberpunk clothing is stuff that is normal-looking and functional but actually carries out a task, and since nobody actually sells the shit you have to make it yourselves. How accurate to the genre.

How's about an IR LED hoodie with a hidden-pocket solar recharger and an RF/GPS jammer?
>>
>>12745135
You can buy almost all of that off the shelf right now. The clothing was okay, but the movie was a piece of shit.

Looks like generic Asian shlock, l combination of a leather longcoat with an extra large hoodie neck.

The only thing I can't find in that genre is something with the split legs in front and the zip-up side. That's tailor-made.

Why wouldn't they be? They're cute. Wear whatever the fuck you want, most people dress like trash even if they can afford better. Just be yourself.

>>12746151
For some, sure. I don't really have clubwear anymore... because I don't go to clubs anymore. Maybe there's still a scene for it in Asian or European countries, but in America its dead. The only time I could get away with wearing picture related is winter time in a big city. Other than that, people will assume you're going to shoot something up.

Both jackets are black and leather though I guess. But yeah, obviously generic Asian shlock you can buy off of the shelf. Get fucked.

My nigga, if you read.. based on what you've just told me you will love the Takeshi Kovacs series by Richard Morgan.

Read Altered Carbon if you get a chance. Hard boiled noir style detective story set in the far future, with a badass nihilistic main character. Reading it will give you blade runner/do androids dream of electric sheep/neuromancer vibes but it's literally just way better than all of those things.
>>
>>12750543
It's holo-advertising - probably for a sport/fitness center.

She's a hologram. Hologram advertising is a big visual thing in cyberpunk aesthetic. Think instead of a coke billboard there's a 30 story tall hologram of an asian girl in fashionable future-clothing sipping a coke and smiling on repeat in the center of a dark, neon lit, never ending cityscape, where the ultra rich plot political moves in the decadent highrises above, and down in a back alley somewhere in the city base, a junky scores some tetrameth from a drug dealer so augmented he's almost more machine than man.

“All the speed he took, all the turns he'd taken and the corners he'd cut in Night City, and still he'd see the matrix in his sleep, bright lattices of logic unfolding across that colorless void...”
>>
>>12750586
I prefer the uncensored "Black Man" title for that novel. Didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as Altered Carbon though. Did like it more than the sequels, however. I wish Morgan would do more cyberpunk..
>>
>>12748597

Dressing up as a biker dude with weird sunglasses and a weird haircut is pretty effay I guess.

That's really what the cyberpunk look boils down to. A leather jacket, boots, and any pants you got. The "punk" part comes from that, and from your weird haircut. The "cyber" part really just comes down to how futuristic your sunglasses look.

You can wear super-advanced geometrical bullshit techwear with a hundred waterproof zippers and seven overlapping asymmetrical cowls and clip buckles all over your insulated polymer sweatpants and have fluorescent spring-soles on your running shoes that light up when you run away from cops, but at the end of the day, if you don't look like a generic biker thug with weird sunglasses, you're just gonna be "some guy maybe from the future", not a cyberpunk.

Hence the basic definition "metalhead who listens to Ministry" being more sensible than any abstract set of guidelines you can come up with.

Sorry that's how it works.
>>
>>12751139
The funniest part is that in almost every other version, she's just got a basic-ass standard body with military upgrades shoved in, and she looks a hundred times better.
