If you have no idea go to a good hairdresser and ask there, they mostly know how to match hair to shape of face/looks in general, if you wouldn't like their idea you can always say no. If you have any person who hair you admire, bring picture with yourself for reference if you decided that you don't trust hairdresser.with your hairstyle or hairdresser wouldn't know what would look okay on you

did she give any specifications? does it have to be totally short? because if not, first get a cut that still frames your face, maybe almost chin length, if you don't want to get rid of almost everything.
you can always go shorter, i don't know, a week later at another appointment, but growing out a shitty cut easily takes a couple of months.
