Fa, I seriously need your advice.

I have 1a hair type - absolutely straight and also very thin. As a result my hair lack mass and don't "lie down" at all. They just like "stick out" of my head. That's especially visible at sides. The hair on my temples don't lie, it just sticks out to the sides and it looks ugly.

Barbers refuse to make the hairstyles I want like pompadour or slick back, they say those hairstyles are impossible to achieve with my type of hair because my hair lack mass. So, what options do I have?

Anyone know what the varying lengths of hair called?
Ive only been able to figure out that the darker color to lighter color is called an ombre.
The more natural dyeing style is called a balayage I think.
Im not interested in the color but the style.

I realized that I've never grown my hair out, so I was thinking about trying it out. Thing is, I have a very heavy swirl and thick hair, meaning I get some sort of beatles-style hairdo, with my bangs curving like a cowlick to the side of my head.

Can't show a picture because of short hair right now, but it looks something like this. So I'm wondering, anyone got any experience with this? Will the hair fall downwards at a certain length, or should I use some product to keep it from bunching up?

My hair is very, very curly and when dried out on its own will frizz at the slightest chance. The hair on the top is not far off black woman hair in terms of looking like a fucking twisty phone cord, and on the sides and back it's a bit more relaxed but puffs out.

It's long at the moment because I've never grown it out before, and I keep it all in a bun almost always. I wash and condition it well but it will always look dried and frizzy if I just leave it be after getting wet. I like how it looks in a bun but I'm recently getting tempted to get a cut and try styling it properly, but I have few questions if anyone has patience and knowledge of curly men's hair:

What's the best product I can use to keep it tame and stop it going frizzy?
Are there products that can be used with straightening? (never seriously given straightening it a go)
Would an undercut/short back and sides with keeping length on top look good with curly hair (assuming I can relax it somehow)?
Would a hairstyle like this look good anyway if I have a fairly big forehead and not very good hairline? (since being a kid I've looked like I'm just starting to recede, so it's hard to find a natural place to see where it would part or where the long and short hair would be divided)?

I'll probably get around to posting a picture of it wet and dry at some point just to make it easier but I can't right now.

I've noticed over the last few years that the best hair product for me seems to be ordinary man sweat. If i break a sweat then run a comb through my hair it lays so naturally and gets these curls.

I assume it's the salt in your sweat as i remember hearing that salt water can be used to curl your hair.
