likely a mix of both knock offs and authentics. I think his early stuff was probably using fake fabrics, but once rappers like LL Cool J and others commissioned items from him, he could put money towards cutting up bags and the like to make garments.

nah, it was the other way around. he originally cut up bags and stuff for the logos, but he eventually started printing them himself.
