Eh, its alright. Certainly overrated - 99% of models I worked with or interacted with didn't seem to realize that it was not a "lifetime career" thing which was amusing. I got out of it and finished up schooling.

Superficial. The moment they find someone who fits in the clothes slightly better than you (and they will) you become completely inconsequential. The saying, "one second you're in, the next second you're out" is way too true. Designers and photographers also think they can sleep with you, and this is generally expected. In essence, you're a high fashion prostitute.

Also agencies like making models live together in a studio apartment. Living with other models is the worst experience ever.

the former is just plain untrue, guys have it way easier than girls, can't even begin to explain why but the girls are far more exploited than guys, for guys its like a big fun club, nobody competes except for a few try hards, for girls however, they all compete, and this is used against them constantly by agencies, designers, photographers, etc

the latter statement is partially true, it's true, but don't forget there are designers out there who genuinely care about their models, and whilst they're still keen to find new ones, they'll hang on to their old ones. If you befriend a designer or if a designer takes a shine to you, then its easy and fun as hell, you can get paid not to work just because the designer is possessive of you and their image

Just don't hope for a full time job being a male model.

The pay is shit unless you are top 1% , its even worse for guys.

You will be hit on by men constantly, and they will expect them to suck their dick. Same for guys, be prepared to be hit on by tons of fags.

You have opportunities to travel, but as an average model, forget about Paris and New York, you will only go to China and other far east countries where they treat you like a god if you got blue eyes.

Guys brag as much as girls, but a lot of them get spooked by the amount of gayness in the industry.

Being tall, slim and having a sharp jaw is more than enough to become a model.

And in the end, being a model does not mean shit, its exhausting , you are at the bottom of the food chain and are an expendable good.
