Implying anyone reads the sticky.
>>12626429
Man, that looks comfy.
What are some of your favorite brands?
The North Face
Battenwear
Topo Design
Is what I'm usually dressed in
Thought I had more. Back to you, OP.
>>12626442
Amazing, thanks for sharing.
>>12626439
In terms of hiking and camping, Manastash, Filson, Battenwear, orSlow. But it's more specific attire, not brands. Climbing pants or loose shorts, tee's, lightweight shells, and flannels, heavy knits, fleece at night.
>tfw you missed out on this sweet anorak
>>12626439
Mind if you can post more of this magazine?
>>12626822
Sure, no problem.
Is it possible for GoOut.jp to ship nationally?
>>12626905
Yeah get a Tenso account. I've bought from a lot of Japanese sites with it
>>12626455
I was kinda annoyed that Shia quickly became such a beef. but relief, le beef is not Shia
>>12626439
Patagonia for shirts, sweaters and fleece. I have one of their parkas. Filson for outerwear and bags. Danner boots.
>>12626439
Meanswhile
Patagonia PCU and MARS
REI (comfiest underwear d.esubakasenpai)
Thorlo
White mountaineering when they're in a color blocking mood
Danner and Danner Japan
Go Slow Caravan cuz they have a very cool aesthetic
Punk Drunker cuz they're so far out. They push the boundaries
>>12626997
Oh fuck and Gramicci Japan, I wish they'd have such cool shit on the American site
>>12626988
What?
>>12627007
Shia has chicken legs problem same as me, just won't grow.
Look at that guy massive trunks.
>>12627007
You can just see more muscle mass substance than skinnyfat Shia
>>12627008
>>12627009
The guy in the picture isn't Shia... It's a model for ColdSmoke
>>12627010
You have reading comprehension troubles
>>12626481
Where do you buy your Manastash?
>>12627012
If it's not Shia, then why bring him up?
>>12626907
Can anyone ID #10 ? I can't find it on paty's website.
>>12627060
If you just stop for a moment and think about this picture. What is this man doing? Why is he walking on these stone cubes when the ground isn't even wet? Why is he wearing hiking clothing when he is in what appears to be a public park?
>>12627032
Proxy. Livestock and Blue Button Shop occasionally stock it, which is helpful since I live just outside Toronto.
>>12627117
Because it's modeling. Not supposed to be practical, just look good.
>>12627127
>Not supposed to be practical, just look good.
Doesn't that defeat the very purpose of Outdoor Style? If they had actual bushcrafters wearing the clothes and doing their thing in them wouldn't it be cheaper and more effective than hiring a model?
>>12627139
no, that wouldn't show the clothing items as well
>>12627110
The item description is on the next page. Check the pastebin
>>12627139
>Doesn't that defeat the very purpose of Outdoor Style?
Yes, practicality is more important than functionality.
> bushcrafters wearing the clothes and doing their thing in them wouldn't it be cheaper and more effective than hiring a model?
Models are hired because they're good at flaunting what they're wearing. Trying to find the average man, good looking, and into their activities would I imagine take more time than hiring a model online.

Thanks!
An interview Hiroshi Fujiwara, designer of White Mountaineering
Where can I get some relaxed outdoor pants. Anything of nylon, cotton twill? Recommendations will be great.
>>12627568
Hiking pants are pretty stretchy and some have built in belts
>>12627700
Yeah, but I usually wear relaxed pants but want it to be consistent with all the stuff that I'm wearing.
>>12628373
I dunno that gramicci or outdoor research logo on the belt can really tie an outfit together
>>12628385
Never liked having built in belts, but I'll fall back to it when I can't find anything. Thanks! Also considering Engineered Garments.
>>12627568
I like looking around at GoOut.jp and other outdoor retailers.
This techwear trash is sooo tryhard. Oh because it is not in black it is not techwear? Get real autists. You are not Japanese and you don't go mountain climbing. You'll look like an idiot wearing this colorful techwear to college.
>>12628555
>Oh because it is not in black it is not techwear?
No one said it wasn't.
>You don't go mountain climbing
I'm sure people here do, but you don't need to be outdoorsy to wear their clothes.
>You'll look like an idiot wearing this colorful techwear to college.
You only dress up for college?
tad has some pretty cool /out/ style
>>12628623
Triple Aught Design is a great brand.
What's "outside"? Is that a clothing line? Also, what's a 'sun'?
>>12628679
it's a lifestyle brand
Nice thread. Andies looks, would buy if I lived in USA/Europe.
>>12629202
>would buy if I lived in USA/Europe.
Where do you live that location is stopping you?
Gramicci's NN-Pants seems to be a japanese exclusive, is there any pants they have in the U.S that has a similar fit.
>>12626916
Name for that particular kind of vest in the lower right part?
>>12629782
brand is mountain research
"Asymmetric color scheme of fishing vest" according to Google translate
>>12628555
It's funny because if you go to Japan and day hike the easiest mountains, almost everyone is on tryhard mode and they will judge you as being an unprepared goon if you don't have the latest matching clothing from Nanamica and 3 days worth of gear.
That said, everything in this thread trends toward /fa/-functional (probably ok for a day hike) rather than real hiking function. Pic related would be pretty cool since it's Ventile.
>>12629807
Snow peak and WM are also pretty well made
They make stuff to Japanese osha (not sure what is called there) spec
>>12626439
I like patagonia jumpers and i like the logo
can i wear them in a non-outdoors social situation and be /fa/
There has to be a reason why Japan has so many outdoor brands and receive special lines and pieces sold to that country exclusively. Examples would be: The North Face (Purple and White Label) and >>12629304 Gramicci has exclusive clothes.
>>12629843
Because its a country full of mountains and trails. If you go to any well known /out/ location on the weekend it will be crowded with people. It's kinda part of the culture that has crossed with fashion/gear and vice versa. And even if you don't experience the outdoors the aesthetic is easy enough to be attracted to.
>>12629843
The Japanese fashion industry must rely heavily on licensing. A company might own 10 licenses (Calif or Jackpot are good examples) and pay for the ability to slap a X-LARGE / Lonsdale label on their products
I dunno how other brands do it, particularly Red Wings and Danner, since they have such cool shit in the Japanese market, like Horween boots and Primaloft filled booties for comfy winter fits. Pic related
>>12629873
Wish we can get this stuff in the west :(
>>12627019
Why not just get the Garmin Fenix 5s/5/5x?
>>12630018
Move to the north shore. Not very /fa/ but it's /out/ at its purest
>>12629873
actually packing a ton of shit right now for a move to hokkaido in a week, stoked.
>>12630055
God damn the used camping stores in Japan look so cool. Have fun, man
>>12630055
The December 2014 issue of Popeye has a dry goods / camping supply guide that'll bring tears to your eyes. I think it's up on vvshu, but when I get home I'll scan the pages with the info for (You)
what about poler stuff?
>>12630079
That Pole-cat hat is sweet. Post more hats please.
>>12630055
Enjoy man! There's plenty of good hiking up there if you ever get bored. The season for most mountain trails is usually short due to the snow but ya'll don't get nearly as much rain or typhoons so late spring/summer/early fall will be sweet. If I could find a job I'd make the move easily. Going to do some dayhikes on my next trip in fall. Likely just going with an anorak (pic related) and base layers.
>>12630067
Haven't been in that store in years but it's pretty well known. Ameyoko is goat.

only pic I got sorry
saving this thread because it's the only good one on this board, anyone have experience with Danner Hiking Boots? Would you recommend them? not sure whether to get Danner Lights instead.
>>12631499
>>12629304
Would love ant recommendations of pants like this without the built in belt.
>>12631505
>>12631499
Go for Danner lights.
>Manastash made born in Seattle, online shop is only for Japan
Why!!!
>>12631637
Japs bought them out.
>>12631555
probably will, already have good hiking boots so i don't really need another pair.
Any experience with GoWest/GoHemp? Thinking about getting a few, but sadly they don't have their T-shirts in black.
>>12631740
Is it possible to dye on of these black?
>>12631499
Gotta cop one of these.
>>12633069
and wander has some great stuff, looking at the trek jacket in white but not sure if i could pull it off
>>12631740
About to cop their Musa tee, good thing they ship internationally for once.
>>12633309
How's the fit?
>>12633321
never been able to try one on, looks nice and short though which i like.
>>12633333
Check'd
And it will look good on most people, of course you have to your part and be appealing yourself.
>>12626472
Where to cop those pants at?
>>12630139
W2C that yellow one ?
Thoughts on Kaptin Sunshine?
Also strato.co.jp has some great model fits.
>>12633727
Hawkwood Mercantile. MTO only though they will be in Tokyo stores next year. Can get expensive if you choose fabrics like Ventile but the fact that you get to choose between poplin, twill, waxed etc is pretty cool. Colors for fabric, buttons and pockets can be customized as well.
>>12626487
I got the parka instead of the anorak. I think that the Anorak is cool but there are better anoraks out there for the price. Fisher + Baker and Fjallraven make better anoraks.
Thoughts on North Face Purple Label FW?
>>12629807
Dunno where you went, but when i day hiked over there most of the peak was populated by old grandmas/granpas having a picnic and people foraging for herbs
>>12626404
can i get an id on the pants on the left
>>12635101
>Cara Delavigne
>>12626978

>>12636089
Yeah she's all over the lookbook. I don't think there's a single guy in this one.
>>12630071
thank you
>>12636835
to be honest I totally forgot about this. Let me fire up my scanner
>>12636863
fuck I hate the 4mb size limit; the picture is cut off on the bottom
and honestly if I can ever get a document feeder for my scanner I'd be willing to dismantle my entire magazine collection to get better quality scans of the pages
doing it freehand is too time consuming tbqh
>>12636863
Are these posted on the pastebin?
>>12636915
no I'm scanning them right now
>>12636915
just doing the "complete walker" section for the anon that said he's looking for a shopping guide
Does Manastash have T-shirts without pockets?
>>12636939
that "mint oil" thing is among the coolest things I've ever seen in a Japanese magazine
>>12636928
You're doing gods work.
sorry, this pic is so badass I had to scan twice and combine the images
Amazing scans
Wow this is fantastic. How are Japanese people so aesthetic?
>>12637151
It comes from their history and environment. That their clothes throughout the generations has grown to suite the outdoors.
>>12637437
Also helps that they're overall thin and have a complexion that pairs better with
colours than others.
>>12636863
Thanks for the scans anon.

>I was kinda annoyed that Shia quickly became such a beef. but relief, le beef is not Shia

Work on reading comprehension.

What are some stores you guys use to buy your stuff? I'll list some I like to look at:
Strato
Digital-Mountain
GoOut
Silver and Gold
Do you guys really larp as /out/
tfw no comfy outdoors friends to go canoeing with
>>12636943
If you want something kind of similar here in the states get Dr. Bronners, it's great for camping cause its super high concentration so a little goes a long way, and it also has hella uses.
Tastes like absolute shit as tooth paste tho.
>>12626439
Topo Designs is the shit, been using a Klettersack daily for about a year and a half
>>12637760
it's from a south2 west8 promo shoot, pretty sure it's their Jungle Hat

>>12641722
nanga takibi down pants, if you can believe it!
im in florida and its hot as balls. what do i get for the heat and humidity? All i see posted here is jackets and sweaters
>>12641740
climbing shorts are pretty popular atm. just wear a t shirt, maybe an outdoors brand if you want to keep the image up.
>>12641740
For T-shirts look for patented technologies like COOLMAX, or for organic fabrics hemp and merino.
>>12626439
Arc'teryx and Patagonia
arc'teryx is good cause I do glacier climbing
>>12641750
>just wear a t shirt,
not possible. If i step outside for more then 5 min my whole back is full of sweat.
>>12641761
Hemp? never heard of hemp shirts will google now
>>12641797
i dunno what you're expecting then, a hemp t shirt isn't going to stop you sweating, if it's 100 degrees or something then you're probably gonna sweat no matter what you wear
>>12641819
This nothing can help you in such heat.
>>12641819
its like a constant 98 with humidity
>>12642013
>>12627019

Inspiration for down jackets and vests.
>>12642659
No.
>>12642526
I just meant that it's proper outdoor, not something that passes for every day wear.
>>12634307
This jacket is top notch. Probably cost a fortune.
>>12631499
Great quality, really high price tho. In terms of real functionality they're lacking because they're heavy and made of leather. If you want boots for just a day hike they're great.
>>12644030
I'm used to heavy leather hiking boots for longer periods of time, it's the price im thinking about. £360 is steep, just wondering if they're worth it. i would probably get more daily wear out of the danner lights.
>>12626546
big burly coat and shorts
what a fucking retard
>>12631507
Dickies. Get the standard loose fit and either crop them, cuff them, or get them hemmed to the right length.

What do you guys where for base layers. Been wearing Uniqlo Airism but need something a bit more comfortable with organic fabrics.
>>12649598
Wrong thread lol
Patagucci is good for the money, but if you want cheap base layers that are half or 1/3 the price get ecwcs military surplus on eBay. Berry compliant (meaning it's American made through and through), extremely comfortable and made with high quality fabric.
