I can only speak from my experience with menswear on the dressier side, but all of those sartorial prescriptions you got in early 2010s from publications like GQ, Esquire, VMan, etc. had a significant impact on the landscape.

I remember reading a column from old style guy (Glen O'Brien) from a 2013 issue and he dumped a ton of shit on pleats and roomier legwear. The pendulum shifted after Michele did his thing at Gucci and I'd say it's a good thing - pleats look approachable if you keep proportions in check.

I love the sweater. Sizing seems good (M @ 6'2") and the length is perfect. Do notice what you say about the embroidery: it's stiff now and interferes with the flow of the fabric.
