For those who do this, how do you make sure you don't end up wasting money because things look different/ feel different than expected once they arrive?
Occasionally I'll see something online that would be too difficult to go and try on in store because of distance, but I've never actually bought something online just because I know how bad it could go. Especially with more expensive items.

you simply send things back if they don't fit. you can get some measuring tape to make it more likely the items fit

Eh. Who gives a crap. Take your measurements or measurements of the stuff you have that fits you the best, and compare those measurements to the things online. Also look at what size the model wears, it often works just buying that size. It's not a big deal if it doesn't work out anyway
