I've taken a few long hikes in these and I like them so far, they feel similar to a running shoe. They're only waterproof up to about the third eyelet, so you may want to get the tall version if you're going to be wading through a lot of streams. Too early to say if they're really durable or not

Also they run pretty big, I think the site recommends going down half a size but you could probably get away with going down a whole one.

I think the term predated Gibson, Gibson was just the one that made it more popular (ironically he's a giant acronym brand whore).

It's evolved past his perception of it since then to encompass brands that have a minimalistic approach to tech. Keeping it casual like Outlier, or no branding like Veilance.

So the minimalism keeps in line with a gray manish philosophy, but that doesn't mean its goal is to be the guy in semi-casual who has a gun in his pocket.

Boxwood here to weigh in on the trolls. Not for them, but for twg folk who are all really nice and to the lurkers who are in these threads but don't post. The discord is a big place that's open to anyone to participate, it's not a club and most posters found there way there from here. It's a lot like 4chan.

That said, people in this thread are blatantly cherry picking posts they don't personally like. In the discord we get a lot of new people and even people just posting pics of them experimenting with new outfits - that means that not every single one is going to be a home run. But shit, at least they're trying, they're being open minded about feedback, and they're making an effort to better and refine their style. That takes a hell of a lot more balls than coming on here and shitting on someone, being too shit to provide thoughtful critique, and being too afraid to put your own self out there to be judged. So I admire those who have those balls, and honestly just feel sorry for those of you who don't.

That's a big part of why I made the discord. As someone who has lurked 4chan for a decade, it's just gotten to the point where you can't even discuss anything anymore. And yes I know its 4chan and I understand the culture here, but we all know it's gotten worse than ever. It's just a teenage circlejerk of people who want to troll but could never dare put their self out there. So to those who give a shit about fashion and want to get better come join us.
