It's not as cringe as those people who dress 20 years older than they actually are, but it looks just as desperate.

I think lifestyle/career should determine your style when you're older. Are you an average joe working a 9-5? Then you'll look odd wearing designer clothing or streetwear. Are you a tattoo artist? You won't look too odd wearing a goth or metal inspired outfit when your older.

Age plays a huge role in your social environment if you aren't freelancer or some musician/director/writer/actor. It may be hard to understand when young, but you get it quick when you understand that apart from beforementioned jobs you won't get anywhere with "fuck rules" attitude.

I'm 41 this month, and decided I don't give a fuck.

I've always been a skater and metal kind of guy, so for me it's skinny jeans and t shirt.

However, I have toned it down from the gaudy band t's, and I try to wear actual shoes or boots rather than sneakers. Also, untucked button down shirts are good.

I'm a musician and in active bands, so my style fits me, but ironically I have a white collar 9-5 in a traditionally conservative field.

I do know that I'm never going dad core though. I don't feel 41, or look 41, so it's kind of weird.

I say you just do what you like. People are going to hate no matter what, but fuck them because most people are just pussies these days anyways.

I'm 29 and while I've toned some things down I still just dress how I feel like dressing. Not too many graphic tees anymore and fewer sneakers but overall the same. Just do you.
